The national tests lend
ernselves to group in-
struCtIon. Groups should not
:be larger., no more- than 1$
akaters,.(clinton has 12-13), A
..group shouldcOnsist • of
skaters of equal skating
ability. If individuals show a
departure funs the average
they should be transferred to
another group. However
extreme care should be taken
before a moving a skater to a
lower group.
More advanced skaters
who can do the test properly
-should be encouraged to help
the younger ones, (a buddy
system), during free periods.
-This assists the organization
• and also encourages teaching
and leadership qualities.
Skaters have received their
skatathon sponsor sheet by
now and are looking for
sponsors. They will skate. on
Saturday, December 4, 11 to
12 noon for the beginners and
• juniors and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
for the seniors and in-
termediates. Depending on
the experience of the skaters,

Any skater who hasn't yet
got a sponsor sheet, please
ask this Saturday.
Canada's Tolier Cranstda
will star in the Ice Show to be
held in the London Gardens
next Tuesday and Wed-
nesday. This exciting show
features, as well as Tolier, an
all-star cast of Olympic
Champions and world
medalists and is well worth
the cost of a ticket and° bus
fare to see it.
As this article is being
written, important spade
work is being done for
formation regarding bus
rental, ticket reservations,
etc. to allow as many as
possible of the Clinton club
and parents to go to see these
famous skaters in person.
The cost will probably be in
the neighbourhood of $10 or
$11. Those able tit, go, please
be prepared to pay for your
ticket this Saturday.
And if that's not enough
highlights, hear this: Clinton
Winter Carnival Committee
has asked the Clinton Figure
Skating club to present an ice
show on Sunday, January 16,
2-4 p.m. One hour practice
sessions have been granted
for Sunday afternoons. This
will not interfere with the
regular training. What an
excellent offer. Lees be ready
to put our shoulder to the
wheel for the Clinton Winter
Carnival.
