Stroig support for the
Ontario Milk Marketing
Board was given by members
of the Huron County
Federation of Agriculture
attending the monthly
meeting in Clinton recently.
The meeting voted to
support a committee
organizing to support the
marketing board against

are hurting them.
Lyle Pettapiece of Grey
township told the meeting
that there has been a lot of

that many milk producers are

Earlier in the meeting the
proposal from the Perth
County Federation of
Agriculture to the O.F.A. was
studied, and for the most part
discarded. The brief called
for abolition of the two -pool
system of fluid milk and
industrial milk and con-

some producers would have
trouble bringing their in-

which they felt was
necessary. In fact. one
speaker said, those who
drafted the proposal should
have gotten hold of the
present regulations before
writing it up and could have
saved themselves a lot of
time.
One proposal calling for a
ceiling of 510 per pound for
milk quota at present to be

brought an angered reaction
from dairy farmers present.
Mr. Fortune pointed out that

DAY
The September meeting of
the Ontario Street UCW af-
ternoon group and friends
was .a very interesting bus
trip to Five Oaks. It was a day
well spent, hearing and
seeing all the wonderful
services that are being
carried on there, for peoiale of
all ages.
The October meeting was
chaired by Mrs. Vera
McGregor in the absence of
Mrs. Forbes. She opened with
a poem on Thanksgiving.
Mrs. Hazel Matheson and
her group led in the
devotions. Mrs. Eva Cam-
pbell gave a splendid review(
of the day at Five Oaks.
The business meeting was
followed by pictures, talk and
music of Hawaii by Mrs.
Willa Taylor. Hearing of their
trip in this way, made
,everyone feel they had been
there.
Dates to remember are an
invitation to Londesboro Hall
to a bazaar October 27 and the
Burns Church Ladies mid the
Ontario Street Bazaar,
November 20.
Mrs. Lewis's group served
