The Van Egmond Foun-
dation is holding a Ciderfest
on the grounds of the historic
Van Egmond House,
Egmondville, Huron County,
en Sunday, October 17, from 1
to 6.
Hot mulled cider and
sausages, made on the
premises, will be available
and there'll be demon-
trations of pioneer crafts
eke spinning, butter churning
and shingle making. A flea
market will be set up all
afternoon on the lawn and
Foundation volunteers will be
selling plants, dried herbs
and homemade cookies.
The Van Egmond House
was built about 1850 by
Constant Van Egmont!, son of
Col. Anthony Van Egmond,
who led William Lyon
Mackenzie's forces in the
Rebellion of 1837.
Egmondville is just south of
Seaforth, which is on High-

My wedding tall planned to
be a big o)n with a large
number of invitations being
mailed,and we received many
beau iful gifts. I won't go into
tb,esordid details here. Syffice
le say, that on the day of the
wedding, my fiance failed to
appear.
There is no way that 1 can
possibly describe what I went
through or how I feel, even
now. I've.been fold that 1 can
sue him and am wondering
what my legal chances are?
Because a promise to marry is
a contract, the courts will
award damages to you,
upon sufficient proof that the
promise was in fact made.
(i.e. the fact that invitations
were sent out).
In these circumstances too
you would be able to keep any
gifts -he gave you, including
the engagement ring.
