County council names hydro committee reps.
Warden J.L. McCutcheon. Reeve of
Brussels, and and Anson McKinley, Reeve of
Stanley Township, were: named by
Huron County Council to serve
as representatives ' on theRegional
'fl liens Committee of Ontario Hydro.
Ontario Hydro had requested that
Huron County recommend two delegates
for appointment to a Regional Citizens
Committee, to participate In the plan-
ning process by reviewing the need for
electric power in the area.
This area will probably include Huron,
Perth, Wellington and Waterloo Coun-
ties.
The committee is expected to meet as
often as twice a month for six months to
a year.
Ontario Hydro 'had suggested that
possibly the Maiming Director and the
Development officer could serve on the
committee as Huron representatives but
the councillors chose instead to name
two of their own as representatives,
noting however that the Planning
Director and Development Officer would
be available for opinions and con-
sultation if required.
Council also. named Warden Tol a ,' r
McCutcheon as the County represen-
tative to serve on the Board of Directors
for the Huron Centre for Children and
Youth.
The advisory and nominating com-
mittee of the Centre for Children and
Youth had asked that the County
designate one of its members as a
representative.

Huron County Council supported a
recommendation by the County Library
Board at their meeting on Friday to
continue the use of . Flex Time at the
Library headquarters office for the
balance of 1976 but that arrangements
are to be made for the office to be open
the entire day with staff taking
staggered lunch hours next year.
Under Flex Time the office opens at
8:30 a.m.. closes for lunch between noon
and 1:00 p.m. and closes for the day at
4:30 p.m.
In their report to council the board
noted that the County Librarian had

Dental checkups help to avoid pain
In this modern era. many of
us periodically set aside time
for such important things as
check-ups for our bodies and
our cars, but often forget about
our teeth.
Sometimes we intentionally
"forget." We're afraid of what
the dentist may find. The
dentist will likely find quite a
bit wrong if check-ups have
been neglected for too long,
either unconsciously or con-
sciously.
Some of us will go to a dentist
only when they are being
bothered by their teeth or
gums. Others; will wait until
the pain becomes almost un-
berable before they call up for
an "emergency" visit. And this
could prove too late to save the
tooth, or the patient would have
to go through more drilling
approval far a recommendation that the
Huron County Housing Authority be
authorized to use the County Crest on
their letter head as the Authority had
requested.
At the March 1976 session of County
Council a by-law was passed providing
for apportionments to be paid to the
County of Huron by two- equal in-
stalments due June 30 -and December 15,
commencing in 1976 with penalties and
discounts set out as required by the
Municipal Act.
Acting on a recommendation of the
Executive Committee, the council set
down on Friday justtwhat criteria would
be used to determine the amount of
discount or penalty payment.
The date the cheque is actually
received in the office of the County Clerk
Treasurer will be used, in determining
the amount of discount or penalty, not
the date when the cheque was mailed or
postmarked.
Three business days of grace, ex-
cluding Saturdays, Sundays and
holidays, will be allowed in making the
determination.
Discouts or penalties, ifpayable, will
he'payable from the actual due date. ,
The rate charged or allowed will be
the prime borrowing rate of the County
in effect at the time of prepayment Or
default.
than if he would have visited his
dentist earlier.
Teeth unlike mostother parts
of the human body, cannot heal
or repair itself once they have
been damaged. This includes
both "baby" teeth (deciduous)
and_ permanent teeth. It is just
as important to care for baby
teeth as . they build a strong
foundation for and guide the
permanent teeth into their
proper positions.
