Those attending the Goderich Twp: rec. news Wednesday, September 22, the craft group represen- tatives of Goderich Township met prior to the regular recreation meeting to set plans for their fall arid winter projects. Watch this paper for your "clip and save" schedule. Anyone is welcome to join for a SI registration fee. At the regular recreation meeting held later, John Westbrooke reported the summer softball programs were almost completed. They did not run smoothly and had several hitches. He warmly praised all the coaches and umpires as Well as players and helpers for their unselfish loyal support. The Township would like to publicly thank them for their services. It is the hope of the com- mittee that a softball program evaluation meeting with all townships involved, will be held shortly to discuss and iron out problems that have arisen. It was decided to rent ice in the Bayfield arena starting in January for the Township hockey program. I After some discussion, it was moved that Doug Yeo investigate the possibility of Goderich Township recreation sponsoring a minor hockey team in the Clinton arena. This, they felt would give some respon- sibility to the Township in support of the Clinton arena. Further investigation will follow later, to sponsor a team in the Goderich arena for next year. Gerry Ginn was appointed to select his own committee to set up rules and regulations for the Township Crest contest. The date set for the rules will be announced and presented at the schools on October 8. The deadline for the contest is November 30. People are reminded that the Township Christmas dance will be held early in "December at the White Carnatiee. Further details will follow next month. The recreation committee welcomes any suggestions for winter activities. 0 you have an idea, please phone John Westbrooke, 524-8036 or Hazel McCreath, 524-7436. e to eve.con A f certain rmers, know that getting up get outto a Tbey know this is, every day, not just five days per wee He said, "People should know that it costs farmers $1,000 an acre to buy land to produce their food. that a r are Ioldngfora bit e we up to their c.
