Rev. Donald. Stuart of Centralia efficiated, Mr. Tom O'Helr of avnitton played the wedding mpsic, and Robert Snell, accompanying himself on the guitalk sang "Follow Me", and. "Somewhere". Bronze candelabra decorated with shasta daisies and coral tinted gladioli adorned:the alter. - The lovely bride, given in marriage by per father, wore a long V -necked gown of white swiss dotorganaa over taffeta, with cap sleeves and trimmed with appliqued flowers. She wore a picture hat, trimmed like her dress, with an attached floor -length veil. Her bouquet of orange talisman roses and baby's breath was attached to a parasol of white chantilly lace. The maid of honour, Miss Elisabeth Scorer of Saskatoon, a friend of the bride, and bridesmaids, Mrs. Linda Harris, Port Lambton, sister -in -taw of the bride, and Miss Lori Harris, Holmesville, sister of the bride were identically gowned in deep coral polyester halter gowns, with matching jackets and cape sleeves. They all wore white picture hats trimmed with material similar to their dresses; and carried nosegays of shasta daisies, coral tinted carnations and baby's breath. Miss Kim Spitzik, Goderich and Miss Lori Livermore, Clinton nieces of the bride sand groom respectively, were pretty little flower girls. They wore long gowns of the same material and colour as the bridesmaids, and carried white wicker baskets of flowers similar to the bridesmaids. Brother of the groom, Douglas Swan of Clinton, acted as best man and Steve Harris, Port Lambton, brother of the bride, and Gerald Aldwinckle, SW0- vine, friend of the groom, were ushers. - The groom was attired in a • 4 • et United Church WAS the Scene of a le -ring Wedding eny August 21 at which Ruth eStigonic, only E. estbrook. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a bridal gown of crystalette jersey fashioned with a molded bodice and a full skirt flowing intoachapel train. The double capelet sleeves were pleated and matching pleating trimmed the V -neckline. Completing *her bridal ensemble was a double illusion veil fastened , • to a headpiece of guipure lace ' ".• 4,* 'with atin- and' "seed pearls. She carried a classic cascade of pink sensation sweetheart roses with white starburst pornpons and pink 'stephanotis with a haze of baby's breath and trailing ivy. Mrs-. - Sharon Potter, Goderich, was maid of honor. 4 She wore a flocked mint green polyester jersey gown with capelet sleeves. She carried a crescent cascade of white starburst and pink stephanotis surrounded with baby's breath and trailing pink and white ribbon. • • • Bridesmaids Miss Holly Elliott, Toronto and Miss Susan Bushell, cousin of the bride, and junior bridesmaid &Miss Karen Bushell, cousin of IF the bride, were gowned identically to the maid of honor and carried matching , flowers. Usher's were the bride's three brothers, Ofian„ Mark and LarrY Westbrook. The wedding reception was at The White Carnation at Holmesville where the bride's table was centered with a wedding cake, pink candles in silver holders and bouquets of star burst pompons, pink sweetheart roses and baby's breath. ' The bride's mother greeted her guests in' a floor -length long sleeved gown of im- ported mint silk quiana with a corsage of pink sensation sweetheart roses and baby's breath. She was assisted by the groom's mother in a sleeveless floor -length gown of peacock blue textured polyester jersey with a corsage of pink miniature carnations and baby's breath. For travelling to Eastern Ontario, the bride changed•to a two-piece street length beige ensemble with multi - shades of brown and orange, brown accessories and a corsage of orange Woburn Abbey sweetheart roses. The groom's suit was amatching brown with an orange Woburn Orange boutonniere. Mr. and Mrs. Edgeworth are residing at 28A- First Avenue, St. Thomas. Prior to her marriage, the bride was the guest of honor at several functions. Mrs. Ron Bushell and daughters Susan and Karen hosted a shower for family and friends; Miss Sharon Potter entertained at a shower fbr friends; Mrs. Earl Gilchrist, St. Thomas, gave a shower for relatives and friends of the groom's family; Taylors Corner Community Club presented the couple with a lamp on behalf of the com- munity; and the bride was honored by the staff of the St. Thomas Psychiatric Hospital when whe was presented with a gift. The groom's parents en- tertained at- dinner in the Bedford Hotel following the wedding rehearsal on the eve of the ceremony. Following the wedding, a delicious dinner was setved., at the White Carnation. The guests were welcomed by the bridal party and the parents of the bridal couple. The bride's mother wore a gown of flora) and white organza, with a corsage- of pink sweetheart roses. The groom's mother chose an apricot crepe gown, with a ,chiffon cape ands wore a single gardenia corsage. Following the dinner, the guests enjoyed dancing to the music of the HarbOurlites. - The happy couple left for a cruise to the Mediterranean. Upon returning,. they have taken *residence in London where Connie is on the staff or the University Hospital and Paul is on the staff of Dor- chester Public School. Guests were present at the wedding from Windsor Sarnia, Grimsby, Hamilton, London, Shelburne, Wellesley, Wasaga Beach, Goderich and Clinton. Prior to her wedding, Connie was honoured at several parties. The -nursing staff on her hospital floor held a bathroom shower for her; Mrs. Connie Chomicki en- tertained at her home; a couple's party for friends of the bride and groom; and an aunt of Connie's, Mrs! Ken Harris, entertained relatives at a miscellaneous shower at her home in Holmesville. Rebekahs open fall session 'Approximately 30 Rebekahs met on Wednesday evening September 8 in the Lodge Hall. The new officers for the coming year will be installed at the second meeting in October by District Deputy Presiclient, Mary Fisher of Exeter and her staff. The Charter will be draped on September 20 in memory of all Rebekahs deceased in .the past year. Plans for the fall dessert euchre were left to be discussed at the next meeting. A social hour and pot luck lunch ended the evening. This Sunday September 1 9 Guest Speaker of Kitchener Special Music e Clinton HortjcIture Society provided the AMOY night entertainment of Slides and MUsielgranged by Mrs. Marion Powell, program nVener, Mrs. Mildred Durst, President Of• the society, showed slide pictures taken during trips to the Maritimes, the Rockies and Arizona and gave a very interesting commentary of the trips. Mrs. Elsie fienderson and Mrs. Myrtle Parker of the Home played piano solos during the intermission. Mrs. Durst, Mrs. Powell, Mary Jamieson and Mrs. Crowe of the society presented each of the residents with a corsage as they came to the auditorium and bouquest were presented 12 people for special Oef casions such. as eldest and youngest resident S• special birthdays etc. Mrs. Straughan thanked all those tesPensibte for the lovely evening on behalf of ttier'esidents, The "Over 90" 0_0met on on Wednesday afternoon in the first floor north sitting room and following a musical program refreshments were servedby the Walkerburn volunteers of Auburn. Mrs. Elsie Henderson, Mrs. Myrtle Parker, Norman Speir and Nelson Lear -provided the music. Each of the ladies was given a corsage, compliments of the Clinton Horticulture Society and each- of the men were given an extra cookie.
