Dennis Jewitt up. She has five
wins, two seconds and four
thirds from 30 starts this
year. Gord Pullman was third
with El Sam 0 for owners R.
Burgess, B.H. and Joe Dick of
Seaforth.
At. Elmira on Monday
night, Flame Messenger,
owned by Evelyn Rapson of
Holmesville with her son Bill
driving, got beat by a nose in
a photo finish and had to
settle for second. From 26
starts this year, the five-year-
old trotter by All Aflame -
Debutante' Hanover, has two
wins, seven seconds and two
thirds.
In the fourth race Dennis
Jewitt was fourth with Franc
Stroop's Golden Chris while'
Janet Express was fifth with
Bill .Gernian. Scarlet Frost,
owned 'by John Jewitt,
Londesboro and Dennis
Jewitt, Clinton was second
with Dennis op the bike. She
now has one win, two seconds
and one thil from five starts

Housewives befit Super Stars
The Clinton Housewives
defeated their arch rivals.the
Goderich Super Stars
Tuesday night with a score of
16-7 in the first game in aliest
of three series.
Clinton scored 10 runs in the
sixth inning to clinch the
victory. The second game will
be Thursday night at 8 p.m. in
Clinton.
The team hopes that the
fans will come out and cheer
them on to victory in the
Central Huron Ladies Softball
League.
sCorunna ousts Juniors
The Clinton Junior baseball
club went up against an ex-
tremely • powerful Corunna
club this past weekend and
were eliminated from the
Ontario Baseball
Atsociation's Jr. C. semi-
finals.
The score of the home game
on Saturday was 17-1 and the
score of the game in Corunna
on Sunday was 16-6. Mark
Nicholson pitched the game
at home and Don MacDonald
pitched the away game.
This marks the end of the
baseball season for the
Juniors.

early 1-0 lead in. the ,firs

lead 2-1 in the top of the third
inning.
Cal Fremlin led off with a
single, and after Doc Miller
struck out, Don Bartliff
walked. Both runners scored
as the Soo committed two
straight errors on hits by
Dave Fawcett and Butch
Fleet.
The Soo tied the game in the
third on two doubles. The
Colts looked like they were
going to win this game as they
came up withlour big runs in
the fourth inning. Larry
Pickett led off with his third
straight hit. a double to left
centre. Greg Burns and Cal
Fremlin both walked, loading
the bases. Doc Miller
delivered a sacrifice fly,
scoring the first run of, the
inning. After Don Bartliff
popped to the pitcher, Dave
Fawcett singled home Burns.
Butch Fleet then hit a double,
scoring Fremlin and

Fawcett.
But Sault Ste. Marie. who
are coached by an ex -St.
Louis Bruin's player and
scout, pecked away at the
Colt's lead, with two runs in
the fourth and two more in the
fifth to tie the score at 6-6.
Dave Fawcett put the Colts
ahead again with a 350 foot
homer over the centre field
fence in. the sixth. This lead
was short lived as the Soo
scored three unearned runs in
the bottom of the sixth to
secure the win.
Cam MacDonald suffered
the setback- as the Colts were
outhit 16-11. Larry Pickett,
Greg Burns and Dave
