The final scheduled game of the Inter Park Baseball was played in the Agricultural Park, Saturday evening with Old Homestead Trailer Park defeating the Bayfield Lions •Club. the score was 17 to 16. The present league standings are: 1st Paul • Bunyan Trailer Park; 2nd - Old Homestead Trailer Park; 3rd - Blue Anchor Trailer Park and 4th - Bayfield Lions Club. The playoffs will be tiffs- weekend. Saturday. Old _ Homestead will host the game between them and Bayfield Lions, and Blue Anchor will be at the Paul Bunyan. The last game will be played Sunday night, the Park to be decided upon later. Each of these games is scheduled to start at six thirty. Herbert who was returning after spending a week in Mississauga with friends. Mrs.Elsie Schell of Gad - shill visited her brother-in- law, Mr. Ray Schell in the Senior Citizen's Complex on Tuesday. She also called on Mr. and Mrs. Norm Talbot. Many people in this area went to the Zurich Bean Festival. This reporter certainly enjoyed it and 1 am sure everyone else did also. The appearance of the,village is greatly improved by the newstreet and the lovely trees that the Council members planted. Mr. and Mrs. B. Bigelow of Collingwood were visiting with their daughter and son- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Cullen, Clinton and they attended the Services at the Bayfield Baptist Church. Rev. Miss Sandy Hearn, Troy, Michigan, has been visiting in Goderich and attended the Mid Week Prayer Meeting in the Church on Wednesday, Miss Hearn attends the Church of Mr. F. Harrison, the Evangelist, who will be speaking at the Special Meetings from the 13th through 13th at the Bayfield Baptist Church. Everyone is welcome at these meetings which are to start every evening at 3 :30 p.m. Fire alarm Early Saturday morning the building that houses the circulating pump for the swimming pool at the Yogi Bear Jellystone Park was destroyed by fire. Faulty wiring is suspected of being the cause of the fire. They are rapidly getting it repaired and hope to have it completed for the grand opening this weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Deller, Kerry and Scott of Erin were weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Haw and with Mr. and Mrs. Don Haw, Anne and Cathy. Village social, personal notes Congratulations to Gary Campbell. son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Campbell, who graduated with honors last Thursday Aug. 26th from Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology, Toronto, as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician. Mr. and Mrs. Percy Johnston, Mr. and Mrs. Don Haw, Bayfield and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Johnston of Mississauga attended the graduation ceremony at the College. Mr. Gary Campbell left Toronto by air Friday to join his parents. Mr. and Mrs.. Don Campbell. Linda and Bar- bara who are holidaying in the Saskatoon area. Gary's many friends in this vicinity extend congratulations. We regret to say that Ken • Scotchmer, who is a patient in Victoria hospital London, is not improving as quickly as we would like, having developed pneumonia. Ken will not be able to have his operation until the pneumonia clears up. Our best wishes to Ken. Holidaying with Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Granger on Blair Street have been their youngest son Tom. his wife Sheila. children, Tom Jr. Miriam, Stephen and Michelle .from Geraldton, Ont. Andrews United Church basement on Monday night in honour of Miss Jody Cox, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Cox. A hilarious mock wedding was presented by choir members. Mrs. Marilyn Haw as bride; Mrs. Anna Stirline as, groom ; Carol Penhale, minister ; bride's mother, Mrs. Mayman ; and groom's mother. Lulu Scotchmer. Others taking part were Doreen McKenzie, Kathleen Siertsema, Jean Dunn, Eleanor Watson, Charlene Porter, Peggy Campbell. Debbie Siertsema did step • dancing with pianist Anna Scotchmer. Mrs. Beatrice Welsh gave a reading and little Julie Porter sang two solos very sweetly. Anne Haw and Wendy Penhale took part in a humorous dialogue. Seats were then taken at the front by the bride elects mother. Mrs. Cox, Barbara Fisher. Jody Cox and Mrs. John Cox who assisted with reading verses and opening gifts. Miss Peggy Campbell read the address. The little girls who helped in bringing in the pareels were Julie Porter. Cathy Haw, Rayanne Scotchmer. Beck ie Scot- ch mer. Debbie Siertsema. Jody thanked all for her beautiful gifts and extended an invitation to her reception. Mrs. Cox invited the ladies to her home Sept. 12 afternoon and evening to see the gifts. A delicious lunch was enjoyed by all. W.A. Balk well, the former Winona Ferguson of Bayfield, called at the hut and Lucy enjoyed a visit with her going over the history of Bayfield. Frederick Waithan of Port Credit has been visiting with David Fawcett for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Triebner of Exeter spent last week vacationing at the Bayfield River Cottage Colony. Mr. and Mrs. Norman F. Cooper of Clan Gregor Square entertained Messers John and James Raulf of Mt. Clemens, Michigan who, with their crew were docked in Bayfield Harbour last week aboard their sail yacht Emanon. This young couple were in charge of services at the Presbyterian church for a number of summers and their friends were pleased to welcome them back A pot luck dinner was held at the Presbyterian church on Sunday in honour of their present minister and his wife Dwight and Janice Nelson who are going back to Toronto. A gift of ap- preciation was presented to them. Mr. ' and' .Mrs. Nelsorf will be returning each Sunday for services until Thanksgiving. Kelso who had gone around Lake Superior joined the family on Thur- sday night and vacationed with the Chapman family for a week. They were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. McCluskie, Desbarats and enjoyed a two hour boat tour of Soo Locks going through American Lock No. 3 and returning through the Canadian Locks. This week they are spen- ding some time with Mr. Smith's folks at Niagara and Welland district. We are pleased that Mrs. Larson is improving after being hospitalized in Clinton hospital for two weeks. Mrs. Doris Gillespie, her son David and daughter Robin, who have spent several weeks with the for- mer's parents Mr. and Mrs. Claire Merner, left for their home in California. We are happy to have the Erickson family back in our midst again. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Makins were among those who en- joyed a day at the Exhibition. Sunday morning when they were privileged to have Bishop Townshend. of London as guest speaker. The choir rendered special music, which was much enjoyed by all. Mrs. W.
