driving. He has a record of
2:02 and is a winner of 'over
$143,000. Muddy Royal
finished fourth for 11.0. Jerry

The horse responsible for
the fast mile was Tar Daw
Duke, owned by Larry Da v,
Clinton and Claude Daw,
Mississauga, with driver
Dennis Jewitt, who was in
frorit until the stretch but had
to settle fors secpnd. Both,
these horses are three -year-
olds who have been racing in
the Ontario Sires Stakes.
Dilly Dares finished third for
owner Wayne Horner of
Brucefield with driver Larry
De Caluwe.
At Elmira on Monday
night, Flame Messenger,
owned by Evelyn Rapson of
Holmesville, was fourth with
Bill driving.
G. D. Direct was third for
driver John Muir for Dave
Muir of Seaforth. This gives
him three wins, one second
and one third from seven
starts this year. Leahaven
Red was fourth for Bill
Caldwell of Clinton.
One of the things that adds a lot of class to the Clinton
Raceway and puts it a notch above the other "8" tracks
in the area Is an outrider who parades the horses to the
post and keeps an eye on them when they're starting.

Western Fair entries
The 1976 Western Fair is
just seven weeks away, and
entries in various classes of
competition have already
started arriving at the
Western Fair offices in
preparation for the Sept. 10 to
19 exhibition.
An estimated 30:000 in-
divididual entries will
compete for over 870.000 in
prize money to be awarded
during the ten-day fair.
Closing dates for entries

Press said that the Blyth
Summer Festival has the
perfect formula for success -
a theatre , going market.

relevant plays and a high
quality product, to offer the
public which equals "first-
rate theatre". Gina Mallet of
the Toronto Star call The
Blood Is Strong by Lister
Sinclair "something of a
minor classic" in her. rave
review of the production.
How I Met My Husband by
Alice Munro met with similar
approval and Noel Gallagher
acclaimed the show as the
"second hit of the season'..
Shape by Jim Schaefer was
hailed for its excellent music
and superb acting by Keith
Roulston of the Blyth Stan-
dard.
But the outstanding success
of the season was last year's
hit, Mostly In Clover by
Harry J. Boyle. The show was
sold out for every per-
formance including a special
held -over show for those who
had been turned away from
earlier performances. Mostly
