The July meeting of the
Anglican Church Women of
St. Mark's Anglican Church
was held last Thursday at the
home of Mrs. James Towe.
Owing to the holiday season
the attendance was lower
than usual. Mrs. Tower opened
the meeting and welcomed
the members. The scripture
lesson was read by Mrs.
Donald Cartwright. The
prayers were given by Mrs.
Towe. ,.. -
An interesting reading
followed entitled The
Eleventh Commandment.
The business section of . the
meeting followed conducted
by Mrs. Thomas Haggitt.
Secretary Mrs. John Daer
read the minutes of the
previous meeting which were
accepted as read. The
financial statement was
given by the treasurer Mrs.
Thomas Haggitt.
The travelling • 'apron
.eceived a penny for each
letter in the Apostle Peter.
Correspondence was read by
the president Mrs. Robert
Slater.
Mrs. Elmer Trommer
appealed ' for children's
clothing for a bale she still
has to fill.
The meeting closed and a
lunch was served by Mrs.

Cartwright.

team lost to the Blyth Busters
as the Blyth Team scored a

requests all Huron County
Library books to be in on
August 14. All must be
returned.

home recently after being a
patient in Victoria Hospital,
London.
Mrs. Arnold Craig returned
home Lastweek after being a

Haggitt and family of
Bramalea spent the weekend
with his parents. Mr. and
Mrs. Thomas Haggitt.
The Auburn Librarian Miss
Lorraine - Chamney an-
nounced that the 'judges -had
judged the book marks and
the results were as follows:
First prise, Sharon Glousher;
second, Joanne Stater; third,;
Dennis Schneider.
The annual Wakerburn
Club picnic was held last
Tuesday evening at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Hunking
and family. Over 40 attended
and many children and adults
enjoyed a swim in the pool
before the smorgasbord
picnic supper'. This was set up
by Mrs. Lloyd M.eClinchey.
Mrs. Elliott Lapp and Mrs.
Ted Hunking. After supper
games and contests were in
the charge of Mrs_ Garth
McClinchey. Misses Sandra
and Karen McClinchey.
Team games were enjoyed. A
peanut scramble and relay
games had been arranged for
the smaller children.
Pink and white streamers
and a decorated chair formed
the decorations at the home of
Mrs. William Robertson when
she entertained neighbours to
a bridal shower to honor Miss
Sandy Praise prior to her
marriage. Mrs. Robertson
welcomedall and Mrs. noble had a s+rantblrid word
contest' and Mrs. Harold
Baechler was the winner. A
spice contest conducted by
Mrs. Kenneth Scott had Mrs.
Cathy McDougall as winner.
Mrs. William Seers read an
address in verse form
wishing the best for her in her
coming marriage. Gifts were
presented by Brian and Bob
Robertson.
Sandy thanked everyone
for their gifts and'a delicious.
