Those to register from the farthest away point were Liz Gridley of Guelph, winning a flower arrangement from The Shadow Box in 'Clinton and John Jackson of Hanover who won a cologne set donated by Campbell's Men's Wear. Ofl Suliday, July 18, the group held a picnic •which - involved games conducted by John Strickler and Keen flown. The seavenger .hunt was won by John Strickler of Brussels. He received a wash mitt from Scruton Fuels and Donna Webster who won in the ladies division, received charcoal and barbecue lighter fluid from Beckers. Second prizes'went to Ethel Walker of • Brucefiekl and Marie Eckert of Clinton who were presented with mugs donated by /luny Gully. These prizes were well earned as the contestants had to find such things as a three inch worm. one red button, ane °WIC of lake water, a frog, two barley _heads, a cedar shingle, a hand full of hay, a pet rock and a number of other Items. • They also had ii hot clothes • contest where the Pntestants had to model clothe* from a bag if the whistle was blown. Winners were Ethel Walker of Brucefield, witha gift from Holland Shoes 'and two men winners, Jim White of Stratford receiving a gift frorn ,MeKerlie Automotive and Gord Brindley of Goderich receiving a gift from Clinton Electric. A lot of laughs came with the panty hose, and potato relay race with the winners, Arnold Wasnidge of Aliso Craig, given a cologne- qe, from Campbell's Men* War and Marie Eckert of Clinton receiving a brush and comb set from Newcombe's Drug Mart. In the balloon full of wiAer contest Arnold Wasnidge rind Helen Jones of Centralia were the winners. Arnold received an ornament front) the C. and E. Hobby and Variety in Clinton and Helen won a pair of slippers from Mary's Sewing Centre. Later in the afternoon the auctioneer Gord Brindley, assisted by John Strickler auctioned off the lovely wrapped suppers to the men, brought by the ladies of the club. The money from the auction went to charities and the highest bidder was Arnold Wasnidge who pald-$23 for his supper brought by .Helen Jones. The buyers were allowed as many suppers as the ladies brought and Gard Brindley bought the last supper plate made by Marie Eckert who had barbecued • lovelY.fteaks- After the meal* firindlaY was after shave Barber Shop, for a -done.
