Sale!
This greeting has been
heard . around Bayfield for
weeks. Friday night every
one gathered at the Arena for
the Annual Pioneer Park
Association Rummage Sale.
Everything was very capably
managed by the convener
Mrs. Marg. Laudenbeck,
assisted by her co -convener
Mrs. Gail Grant.
The co-operation of the
Bayfield residents and the
summer residents was
greatly appreciated. for their
help made it a success, as
usual.
The doors were opened at 1
p.m. to a large waiting crowd
and the rush was on. The
Garden Centre was a popular
booth as they had plants.

others in plastic bags ready to
start. They even had a Silver
Dollar plant.
The toy booth and book
centre were of great interest
to both little people and big
people. Where else, except at
our Rummage sale, could one
buy an electric stove for five
dollars. or a kettle for twenty-
five cents? They had clothing
for every member of the
family, drapes, linens.

antiques, which included a;
old "coal -oil" stove and an
old fashioned clothes

sailboat. The Tigress, coming
up from Sarnia. had gotten
into difficulty some miles off
Whore about 5 p.m. and had
asked for help.
The OPP were notified and
a call was sent to the Canada
Rescue Unit. A Trenton based

returned home after spending
three weeks with his
daughter. Evelyn: in Ayer's
Cliff. Quebec.
Mr. and Mrs. Norm Talbot
spent the holiday weekend
visiting friends and relatives
in Lansing. Mich.

Murney passed away in
Clinton Public Hospital.
Thursday; July 8, after a
lengthy illness. Sympathy is
extended to Mrs. Murney. her

of Mrs. Jean Campbell during
the Centennial weekend. Mrs.
Rogers' father. Rev. J.
MacNeil was minister at the
Presbyterian church in 1902
and remained here for ten
years. Elders at that time
were Donald McKenzie. Sr.,
James Campbell. John
Whiddon, Mr. Donaldson:
John Fraser. and Dr. Stan -
bury. The MacNeil family
lived in the home now oc-
cupied by Mrs. 'Fred
McEwen.

Open house was held in
Trinity Parish Hall on
Friday. July. 4th , Centennial
week, from 7, ! p.m. About a
hundred attended. The hall
was tastefully -decorated- by
ladies of the Guild. Pictures
and' past 'records were on
display along with pictures of
former rectors, records of
early. births and records of
rectors who preached in the
church. The ladies served a
dainty Lunch.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Higgins,
Scott and Colin arrived at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. J.B.
Higgins on Friday, after
being on a five-week trip,
spending some time at
California. also going to the
west coast Vancouver.
Victoria, Banff. Jasper. Los
Angeles. Lake Louise and
across the Makavi Desert
where they encountered heat
at 107 degrees.
Ozzie, their pure bred
Newfoundland dog visited
with Mr. and Mrs. J.B.
Higgins during the absence of
Ms -master and mistress.
