He was immediately removed and ,iuedical aid summoned, when the laceration was stitched and bound up. Election of" School Trustees. At the last session of the. Legislature an amendment was made to the School Law by which the election of trustees on the Public School Board can take place at the same time as Municipal Elections, the only provisions being that the Board shall pass a resolution to that effect and the Clerk of the Municipality be notified of such action on or before the first of October. Such a change would cause a good deal more inter- est to be taken in the School Elections than hitherto, and at the seine time lessen the expense. We beg to refer those interested to Section 104, Chap. 49, 48th Victoria, ,;Ontario Statutes. Boatinu. This pastime, which has been suspended for past months on account of insufficiency of water les the course, appears to have been resumed with much vigor. ' The matrimonial season, like that of the fall fairs, has emerged from a long and quiet spell, and our readers may look for hymeniel announcements and ieccounts of agricultural fairs, in great nun bers for some time to come. In connection with the for- mer we are this week happy to record the marriage of Mr. John Braund, to Miss Rhoda Rowo, second daughter of Mr. Chas. Roweg the interesting incident taking place at the residence of the bride's father, yesterday morning, in . the presence of a gathering of friends. Rev. Mr. Martin tied the nuptial knot. ' The bride was the recipient of many presents. After th e we riding breakfast, the happy young couple boarded the south -bound tram, leaving for a tripMichigan. through Dliehnan. They have our best wishes. There are many more such events to occur, one or two within a few days. Ifeur Years Term, The term of location among Methodist ministers has been extended to four years. This does not mean that the located minister must continue all the time in one place. He may, as heretofore, leave at the end of one year, but he may, if all concerned are will- ing, remain four. A good many in the Presbyterian Church are beginning to think that the Methodists have iii this the better plan, and this change will deepen that im- pression. The scheme, however, must be taken as a whole. The Methodists 'provide all their travelling preachers with work. Leaving at the end even of one year does not of itself involve any slur or stain. The moving brother goes to another sphere as a Matter of course, and is not only continued in good standing, but in full church work. With the Presbyterian it is .different, as many have found to their cost. The demitt- ing minister with them is too often "castlike rubbish to the void,', after perhaps, the congregation has been ruined with frantic efforts to get quit of hint. It might be a benefit all around if parts of both schemes could' he adopted, -• Personal Mr. Wm. Bawden, of Goderich, was in town last week.
