Hanover took a 1-0 lead in
the second inning without a
hit as the Colts committed

The Colts, who are now at
11 wins and one loss, came
back to tie.the score 1-1 in the
third. Don Bartliff walked
with one out and after
stealing second, Doc ?e!
singled Don home.
Hanover grabbed the lead
again" with two runs in the
fifth inning on three singles
and another Colt error.
Clinton narrowed the score to
3-2 with a run in the bottoiii of
the fifth inning. Again with
one out, Don Bartliff got a hit
by a pitch. A.double by Doc
Millar scored Bartliff all the
way from first base.
The Colts tied the game 34
in the sixth when Butch Fleet
reached first base on a
Hanover error. He stole
second base and then scored
on two ground outs.
In the seventh inning, Han-
over took the lead again
for the third time in the game
on a disputed call by Colt
catcher Butch Fleet, who was
ejected from the game on the
call by umpire Hugh Flynn.

The Colts lost to an all-star
team, 4 -0 -in Sarnia on Sunday
afternoon. The team was
made up of the southera
counties, Tupperville, Port
Lambton, Cartwright,
Dresden and Wilkesport.
Cam MacDonald pitched for
the Colts, but lost 4-0 and
were out hit 8-6.
Atoms soccer team
The Clinton Atoms defeated
St. Columban 3-0 on June 24
with Jeff Corrie scoring two
goals and Ricky Gautreau
scoring One. Half time score
was a 0-0 tie. The Clinton.
gang only broke the score in
the last part of the second
half.
The Clinton Atom House
League teams travelled to
Cambridge on June 26 for the
day, and out of the four teams
that the host town played, the
Clinton Royal Bank won 1 and
Clinton Entries

Seniors draw in soccer game

The Clinton Soccer Club
picked up another valuable
point on Sunday when the
team travelled to London and
tied 1-1 with the Oakridge 'A'
team

and made over $34,000.
Tar Daw Duke was fourth
at Greenwood on Thursday

From 11 starts this year, Tar
Daw has four wins, two
seconds and nine thirds and a
pacing record of 2:04.2.

a bad defensive error when
the ball was not cleared at
centrefield, allowing the
speedy Oakridge centreman
to steal the ball. carry it
through the defence and score
with a low shot into the right
corner. giving Hesslewood no
chance at all.
The whistle went minutes
later with the final score a 1-1
tie.
Clinton completes the first
half of its league schedule
this Sunday. July 18 when old
rivals. Goderich United come
to -town for a 5 p.m. kick-off at
the -arena.
An exciting game is always
guaranteed against Goderich,
