Petty Robbery.
On Thursday night last, a couple or three
tramps perpetrated a small robery on two
of our business men. From Mr. John Tre-
ble, was stolen three pairs of fine shoos, and
SO cents in cash; and from Mr. Wm. Grigg,
fonr'pairs of pants and ane vest. ,in all
goods to the value of about 840 were taken.
In both cases entranec - was effected ft om

The Benmillar bridge is now complete, ex-
cept cept the filling at the ends. . It is a neat
structure, and reflects credit on the ability
of Mr. Hardy, of Exeter, as a bridge builder.
It required over 100,000 feet of timber and
plank, of which 75,000 is cedar. It is com•
posed of five spans, the whole length being
nearly 400 feet. It is higher than the old
one; being almost 18 feet to the centro.
A young man named George Rollins 'while
attending a threshing on the 2nd concession
of London Township Monday, had a narrow
escape from a very serious injury. He was
endeavoring to fasten a belt on one of the
piffles, when hie arm became caught, and
he was whirled 'around, his arms, legs and
body being badly, bruised. Fortunately, no
bones were broken, but he will bo laid up for
r► few weeks to come.
