Saturday night to a large crowd.

Sunday. Bayfield has reason to
congratulate itself on having one
of the best -conducted Salvation
Army corps in the country.
Other groups sought to
establish themselves here at our
time and another but taws tasted
very lost.
The SesteMnner house.
The Sootchmer house beside
Trinity Anglican Church was
originally built as a Rectory but
used in that capacity for a very
brief time. It is a sturdy two-
storey brick home set back from
the street, the trees adding to its
attractive appearance.
Many have lived there. in-
cluding Mr. and Mrs. George
Lindsay before they moved to
their farm on the old Bayfield-
Clintonlroad.
Mr. add Mrs. Lloyd Scotchmer
purchased the home over a
quarter of a century ago. It is a
floe piece of property between
Keith Crescent and Hill Terrace
one of the most desirable in
Bayfield.
The William Parker House

The William Parker House is a
two storey asbestos sided (but
originally frame) home beside
Trinity Anglican and between
Keith Crescent mrd Hill Terrace.
Baron de Tuyll was the . first
owner of the lots and the
Baroness. after his death. sold in
1881. One year later. Robert A.
Montgomery of the Bronson Line
bought it (for taxes) at the
Sheriff's salt. It was again sold
for taxes in 1857 and bought by
Daniel Wilson of the Sauble Line
who built a hoine on the lot on
Keith Crescent and planted fruit
tree. In 1875 Daniel Wilson sold to
John Day whose sister Mary
lived with him. John made
sleighs. wagons and some types
of furniture in a shed at the back
before he had his shop down
town.
The aforementioned fruit trees
bore luscious fruit and tempted
meny little and big boys and
girls. The Days lived there until
1932 and the next year Harold
Stinson purchased the property.
He cleared the grounds. raised
the roof to put on a cottage roof.
tore down the old shed and built a
new kitchen. When excavating
for the cellar. a skeleton.
believed Indian was unearthed
and in 1950. while workers were
digging a drain. another skeleton
was found. Both were re -interred.
The Parkers became tenants ori
1934 and owners in 1949. They
have made a number of im-
provements for comfortable
Ming. including a glassed -in
porch, insulation and an oil
furnace.
