Dominion Road takes vacation
The Dominion Road
Machinery Company an-
nounced this week plans for a
four week plant shutdown in
August to accommodate
employee holidays. inventory
and a review of the com-
pany's immediate production
schedule.
Elmer Squires. vice
president of industrial
relations at DRMCo, said the
road • equipment manufac-
turing farm would close down
for four weeks dais August
instead d the traditional
three week shutdown. He said
• combination of employee
holidays. a statuat•ry holiday
and a need to consolidate the
company's order position
prompted the additional week
of shutdown.
The company normally
closes for a three ween period
during the summer months to
allow for two weeks of em-
ployee holidays and a week of
factory inventory. This year
as new employee contract
calls for some employees to
have four weeks holidays and
that combined with the four
week day work week in the
last week of August suggested
the month lone closure.
