Wilbur Rogers when he returned to Hensall United Church after an absence of over 20 years to preach at the anniversa.ry services on Sunday. Taking as his sub- ject, "What are we doing with the future NOW?" he said that everyone has to face tomorrow the consequences of what one does today. One either moves forward or backwards - never stand still. Supported by the Huron Centennial School choir, the congregation enjoyed several selections of religious folk songs and popular lyrics. These young people are led by Mrs. Doris McKinley and accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Mary Moffatt. A solo part was taken by Susan McAllister and the choir of over 60 voices. accompanied themselves in many cases with ukuleles, a double bass and cymbals. stressed the rhythm'of each piece. Next Sunday. the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper and Confirmation of new members will take place. with a reception to follow. Fifty bibles for the church sanctuary will be placed by the Govier daughters in loving memory of Mr. and Mrs. William Govier. of Woodstock and Mr. Ernie Toll of Seaforth attended the beef barbecue at Hensail United Church last Wed- nesday as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Sim Roobal. Cubs season ends Fun night was held for the First Londesboro, Cub Pack as the last program for the season. A ball game was enjoyed with lunch afterward at the church. Spring golf tournament The Londesboro Spring Invitational Golf Tournament was held May 30 at the Sunset Golf course with 47 golfers competing. Larry Carter was the trophy winner as he turned in the low gross score. Winner of the prize for low net score was Cliff Saundercock. Fireworks display The Hullett Township Recreation committee and village businesses are to be complimented on their display of fireworks held on Monday night on the Hullett Central School grounds at the cost of $650.
