The Clinton Majorettes
under the direction of Miss
Lori Biggin entertained the
group with an excellent
display of drills and baton
Later, during the business
meeting. $500 was voted to be
donated to the Cystic Fibrosis
Associatilm. This 'Association
has been promoted by Kin-
smen and Kinettes across
Canada as their three year
major service project.
The Clinton Majorettes
were also given $200 to go
towards providing club
uniforms.
A motion to buy a major
piece of playground equip-
ment for the Clinton Com-
munity Park was also ap-
proved. This will cost theclub
' approximately $700.
Fifty dollars was also
*mated towards 14 Kinsmen
Internatianal Relations
Project in the Philippine
Islands. Plans were made to
attend a joint yneeting with.
Goderich and Lucknow in
Goderidh on Monday, May 17.
At their May 25 meeting,
the Kinette Club decided to
sponsor Miss Cheryl Jef-
ferson, daughter of the Kin
couple. Don and Marie Jef-
erson as a Queen contestant
for the Clinton Spring Fair. It
was decided to try and book
Dr. Lotta Hitchmanova, who
is head of the Unitarian
Service Committee of
Canada, for a speaking
engagement in Clinton
sometime during the 18 -21st
`of October.
She will be in the London
area at this time and is
willing to speak to interested
groups.
'lean Baker has been
asked to attead the next
Kinette meeting to explain
the formation of a Health
Council, which is to be set up
in each area•to act as A liaison
between that area and the
government regarding health
care and needs.

joint Kinsmen and Kipette
barbecue and dance on Julie

It was decided to rent the.
Kinette Brandy snifters for
weddings or other events at $5
per case of 48, with an ad-
ditional cost of $1 for each
broken glass.
The club was reminded of
the john installations of the
Kinsmen and Kinettes• to be
held at the Vanastra
Shillelagh on June 15 and the
two ball foursome en-
tertainment, which will be
held Saturday, July 12.
Foundation to
bring in play
The Val! Egmond Foun-
dation has finalized plans to
bring the Canadian musical
Anne of green Gables to
Seaforth. The Huron country
Playhouse production of Anne
will play at the SDHS
auditorium for two per-
formances, a matinee and an
evening one on Sunday,
August 22.
Proceeds from the per-
formances will go to the Van
Egmond Foundation to help
with restoration of the Van
Egmond House.

Seventy Grade 11 and 12
students from Centratauron
Secondary School, Clinton,
accompanied by their
teachers Mrs. Robinson and
Mr. Allin visited Huronview
on Tuesday and Wednesday
afternoon. The students
arrived at one o'clock and
were taken on a one hour tout

Stackhouse of Londsboro
arranged the program for
Family Night and Victor was
emcee for the evening. Fred
James, violinist from
Goderic,h was accompanied
at the piano by his sister Mrs.
Marilyn Hoy with several
favorite old time tunes.

danced three numbers with
duet step dancing by Madona

violin duet accompanied at
the piano by Mrs. McQuaid of
Seaforth. Theresa and
Margaret Hicknell Seafoth
provided the vocal part of the
program singing two groups
of songs with Theresa
providing the guitar ac-
companiment.
Mrs. Mary Appleby
thanked the entertainers on
behalf of the residents for an
hour of fine entertainment.
Ed. Stiles entertained with
organ music on Thursday
afternoon and accompanied
Mrs. Betty Rodgers with
vocal solos.

May 15 wedding of Charles N.
King and Sharon E.A. Oesch,
both of Watford.
The groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Norbert King of
Stratford, and the bride is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
William Oesch of Varna.

Canon Ernest Wells oMciated
at the double ring cereMony,
and Mrs. Irwin Martin was
the pianist. Mrs. Stuart
Steckle was the soloist for the
wedding.
The bride wore a white knit
jersey dress with long fitted
sleeves, accented by sheer
ruffling around the V-neck
and wrists. Her floor -length
veil was trimmed .with lace
along the edge and she
carried a sheaf of long-
stemmed pink roses.

A dinner and reception
followed the wedding at the
Zurich Mennonite Church.
The couple will be residing at
129 Ballantyne Ave. in
Stratford.

Kooy, eldest daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Jan Kooy, Red
Deer, Alberta. became the
wife of Eldo Earl Hildebrand,
eldest son of Mr. and Mrs.
iohn Hildebrand, Auburn.
The Rev. John Bell officiated

marriage by her father. She
wore a floor -length dress with
fitted, deep wrist -length
sleeves and a floor -length
veil. The .ensemble was en-
tirely hand -crocheted by the
bride herseff in lover's stitch
with tatted edgings. She
carried her mother's wedding
purse. The ensemble was
completed with a bouquet of
tropical and green leaves
centred with three red roses,
and a gold nuggets Black
Alaskan, heart -shaped drop
necklace, a gift from the
groom.
Maid of honor was Char
Melnychuk of Edmonton, a
friend of the bride. Jessie
Kooy, sister of the bride, Red
Deer, was the bridesmaid and
junior bridesmaids were
Diew Kooy, sister of the
bride. Red Deer. and Faye
Hildebrand, sister of the
groom. Auburn.
The attendants wore floor
length red jersey dresses
accessorized with white

from New Zealand, Holland,
Ontario, The Yukon and
British Columbia.
Mr. and Mrs. Hildebrand
honeymooned in Alberta and
British Columbia. They will
reside in Fort Nelson, B.C.,
for the summer where the
groom is employed as a
surveyor for the federal
government. In the fall, they
will return to Waterloo where
• the groom will continue his
studies in engineering, and
the bride will teach Home
Economics.

ceremony, while Mrs. Cathy
Potter was the organist and
Mrs. Barb Hodgins was the

The bride wore a floor -
length gown of white
polyester crepe with large
bell sleeves accented by an
inset yoke of sim ijar
material, embossed with
white roses and trimmed with
a white chain of tiny daisies.
She wore a finger-tip veil
also trimmed with a chain of
white daisies with a head-
piece of white daisies and
seed pearls. Her bouquet of
red roses, white daisies and
stephanotis encircled a single
white orchid.
The maid of honour. Pat
Cook of Clinton, wore a gown
of beige crimp trimmed with
pink velvet flowers and
carried a bouquet of white
daisies and pink baby's
breath.
The bridesmaids, Bonnie
Bailey of Blyth, sister of the
groom, and Heather Hart,
Clinton, sister of the bride,.
were dressed in gowns
similar to the maid of
honour's and carried similar
bouquets.
The flower girl, Tanya
Hart. Clinton, sister of the
bride, als9 wore a similar
dress and carried a basket of
flowers the same as the
bridesmaids' bouquets.
The best man was Larry
Bailey of Blyth, brother of the
groom and the ushers were
Cliff Bailey of Clinton,
brother of the groom and
John Hart of Clinton, brother
of the bride.
The bride's mother greeted
guests at the Clinton Com-
munity Centre. She was at-
tired in a gown of light blue
crimp, trimmed with white
-
and wore a corsage of pink
mums. The groom's mother
assisted, wearing a gown of
yellow knit lace with a cor-
sage of white mums.
For a wedding trip to
Northern Ontario the bride
wore a light and dark pink
skirt and top outfit.
Prior to her wedding, the
bride was given a shower by
Pat Cook, Heather Hart and
Peggy Cooper.
Guests attended the
wedding from Blyth, Sarnia.
Forest, Trenton,
Wallaceburg, Bloomingdale,
lllionis: Chatham and
Clinton.
The couple are residing at
44 Huron Street, Apartment 3.
