Church Middleton met

The treasurer's report was
presented by Vera Miller.
Lois Smith read a letter from
the foster Child, Jean
Laurent, thanking the ladies
for the birthday card • she
received. The Rector offered
to con* to the June meeting
and give a demonstration on
setting the Communion table.
Marion Smith read a poem
and Rev. Bennett closed the
- meeting in prayer. Lunch was
served by the hostess with
Blanche Deeves assisting.
The evening ended in a
plant sale with the Rector
showing his talents as an
auctioneer for the first time
ever.
During our meeting we by
chance had two Girl Guides.
arrive selling the ladies
cookies, (Daryl Postill and
Bobby Thompson). We don't
know how they got into Girl
Guides, but they made good
salesmen anyway.

WCTU Meets
The WCTU of Chiselhurst
United Church met on
Tuesday with Mrs. Dorothy
Par er, president,. opening the

The roll call was -answered
with a verse..eontaining the

poem "A Mother's Love'.
The members' were

overseas relief and to invite

place over adopting a child
