The Clinton Centennial
Band opened and closed the
show. Their repertoire, like
their sound, has become
larger and better. No more
are they just the kids down

field of music.
"Bits of Brass' from
London delighted the
audience and the band with
two very different presen-
tations. They opened with
".Alleluia" by Byrd Wise
which portrayed their sense
of climactic musical skills,
followed by "The Little
Bartok Suite" by Bela Bartok
and "A Plaything" arranged
by B. Strachan. These pieces
highlighted the flexibility
and phrasing of the Quintet.
In the second half of the
program, they again ap-

peared and after their second
selection on the program they
were persuaded by the
audience to play a final en-
core. "Bits of Brass" are
truly a versatile and
professional group.
The third group came from
Goderich and again The

heard who can sing them with
such a degree of indelibility.
I'll bet 350 people are still
humming a part of some of
those tunes. Barber -shop

missed a treat.
After hearing the two
choirs from C.H.S.S.,
"Music" and the "Girls
Chorus" it was not difficult to
understand why they were
both Kiwanis Festival

they' in tune "musically, but
they are also "in tune" with
