Ther first half was typical start of season play - not much ball, control or ex- pertise beine displayed; and Clinton was able to keep • Lions off the score sheet with a lot of luck round the goalmouth while the Lions • repeaatedly sent wild . shots over the Clinton net. At the other end of the field, Clinton had a few shots on goal but not much luck and there was no score at half- tone. • Second half play was much improved as the teams set- tled down, and several of the Clinton players looked im- pressive -- notably Ray Kennedy who , starred on defence, ably assisted by returnees Don McDaid and Dan Colquhoun, while Victor Kennedy showed a return of his usual cool headed play at entre half. On the forward tine, Alex Barrett and Bill Cantelon made the plays. while Don Armstrong did what he could with the unaccustomed role of centre forward. Gary Hesslewood did a fine job in goal for Clinton and looks good for the future. Both teams had their minces to score, but it was "late in the game before Lions tot ahead and then from a directed ted it into the net to be the score 14. Clinton held on and were quite satisfied to come away with one point. The Clinton team is com- posed of: Gary Hesslewood. ` Don McDaid, Ray Kennedy, Dave. Clynick, Victor Ken- nedy. Dan Co.lquhoun, Bill Canteloxl, Brian Newington, bon Armstrong, Alex Barrett, Arno Holthuysen. Subs are: Glen McLachlan and Paul Galachiuck.
