In other business. Vanastra residents
objected to the closure of Fifth Avenue.
Since the closure of the only other en-
trance to Vanastra. the flow of traffic
through the residential area has in-
creased, making it hazardous to young
children waiting for the school busses.
they said.
Mr. Bridges said that Huron County
Development officer, Spence Cummings
thinks Fifth Avenue could be reopened
through a lawyer, as the road was meant
to be opened on the original plan of
Vanastra.
"Ontario Hydro, which is accessabie
from Highway 4 was supposed to be
closed according to the original plan,"
Mr. Bridges said.
He also felt that if Fifth Avenue was
closed then the Ontario Hydro Road
should be closed.
An alternative ' to both roads being
closed was recommended. A collector
lane could be developed from Debbie's
Custard Cup with a passing lane as well.
This could •continue on past the,Ontario
Hydro driveway as a 14 mile an hour
zone and posted as a major intersection.
The Association is waiting to find out
what support they can get from Hydro
before they discuss the plans with the ,
Ministry of transportation and com-
munications.
