The. choir anthems were "My faith looks up to thee" and "0 for a' thousand tongues . to sing" by the Londesboro Women's choir with Louise Lovett at the piano and Ruth Shaddick as choir leader. The children's time was a story by Margaret Whyte. "Why. a party"? The children went to Junior congregation with teachers Joan Whyte, Brenda Radford tnd Carol Cartwright. Rev. W item a Brown from Bluevale United Church s was introduced py G�3urley. Her message was "Women in the church". Rev. McDonitid had services at Bluevale and Whitechurch. The Berean unit. of the UCW will meet on May 11 at 2:30 p.m. in the church parlour. Rev. Stephen Maulers will be speaking, on Trinidad. Roll all will be an ex- change of plants and slips and reporting on some bit of news on Trinidad. This is an open meeting and everyone is welcome. Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Orville Newby were . their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Manery and family of Willowdale. Mrs. Viola Campbell of Bluevale visited on Sunday with her cousin, Mrs. Jessie Jones. Saturday dinner guests with Mrs. Alice Davidson were Rev. Wilema Brown, Mrs. Ella Jewitt and Don and Pat Wiilett and Mrs. Laura Saundercock. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Thom- pson attended the 35th, wedding anniversary 'of his brother, Mr. and Mrs. Vaudyn Thompson, at Mount Pleasant on Friday night and spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. John Lawrie, • Robert and Jennifer, Kit- chener. Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Duizer and family were Mr. and Mrs. Bob Scott and family of Ripley. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Snelt attended the annual OES church service on Sunday night in Kirkton church. We welcome Wayne and Grace Potter and their children Christine. Jennifer and Jonathan who have purchased the home of Warner Collings. The cancer drive collection in Londesboro has been completed. It was conducted by chairman June Fothergill assisted by Geraldine and Linda Johnstone and Nancy Allen. A total of 5155.50 was cottected, the most ever. Thanks to all who donated. The work schedule for the horse race concession booth was finalized by booth chairman Carol Bowker. A discussion regarding the feasibility . of running the softball league took place. It was decided that unless 15-20 more registrations were received. this league would - be cancelled. The club felt badly about such a move. WI executive Eleven members of the WI executive met at the home of president Dora Shobbrook on Tuesday night. April 27 and planned meetings for the coining year. r. A dessert euchre is planned for May 14 at 7":330 and each member must invite enough. people for one table. Everyone is welcome. The WI May meeting will be held on Wednesday May 12 , at 8 p.m. in the hall. The topic will be on Tweedsmuir History, when curator. Celia Taylor of Goderich will be guest and will be judging the log books.' Stan lPy Tup. rc. board seds coaches, playrs The Stanley Township recreation board met Wed- nesday evening at the Township Hall for their regular monthly meeting. The dance and the variety night. which were both in April. were very successful. and the board wishes to ex- press its appreciation and thanks to all who took part in the program for Variety Night. It sure showed they have a lot of ,talent in this area. from the very young to the not so young. Tickets will soon be available on the quilt, and can be obtained from any board member. The board hopes more parents will show up , for games this year to support' the coaches and players.
