The cancer drive collection
in Londesboro has been
completed. It was conducted
by chairman June Fothergill
assisted by Geraldine and
Linda Johnstone and Nancy
Allen. A total of 5155.50 was
cottected, the most ever.

The work schedule for the
horse race concession booth
was finalized by booth
chairman Carol Bowker.
A discussion regarding the
feasibility . of running the
softball league took place. It
was decided that unless 15-20
more registrations were
received. this league would
- be cancelled. The club felt
badly about such a move.
WI executive
Eleven members of the WI
executive met at the home of
president Dora Shobbrook on
Tuesday night. April 27 and
planned meetings for the
coining year. r.
A dessert euchre is planned
for May 14 at 7":330 and each
member must invite enough.

be held on Wednesday May 12
, at 8 p.m. in the hall. The topic
will be on Tweedsmuir
History, when curator. Celia
Taylor of Goderich will be

Tuesday April 20 at the home
of Marjorie Duizers the
meeting seven roll call was
"one place to rse the french
knot" and- mf .ting eight was
"show your free choice ar-
ticle and tell your favourite
stitch".
Pieces of embroidery items
were picked out to use in the
exhibit. Mitering a corner
was shown, and ''`How to
applique" was discussed.
Books are to be completed
by May 14. Lunch was served
by Carol, Tracy and Heather.

The Stanley Township
recreation board met Wed-
nesday evening at the
Township Hall for their
regular monthly meeting.
The dance and the variety
night. which were both in
April. were very successful.
and the board wishes to ex-
press its appreciation and
thanks to all who took part in
the program for Variety
Night. It sure showed they
have a lot of ,talent in this
area. from the very young to
the not so young.
Tickets will soon be
available on the quilt, and can
be obtained from any board
member.
Anyone wishing to register
for softball may do so up until
May 30th. Please write or call
the co-ordinator. Ross
Whittaker of Varna. to
register. Thanks to those who
have volunteered their help
as coaches. They can stili use
more volunteers.
