Zurich Pee Wee hockey
team were defeated in the
QMIA'"E" Series finals over
the weekend in Zurich. Little
Britain won the best three out
taf five when Zurich .lost to
them last weekend in Little
Britain and the game
Saturday night. by a score of
8-6 and on Sunday at noon by
a score of 6.5.
The boys worked very hard
this season and should be
congratulated for their fine
efforts in reaching the final
play-off series. Best of luck
for the finals next season.

Mrs. Ella MacKenzie was
honoured by the gift of a life
membership in the UCW. She
waspresented with a pin and
certificate by Mrs. Metcalf
and Mrs. Reddoch. Mrs.
Margaret Scotchmer thanked
Mrs. Reddoch for being the
hostess and the ladies of the
lunch committee. Mrs.
Morton, Mrs. Hill and Mrs.
Jean Greer, for the lovely
lunch. The meeting closed
with the benediction.

The council of the Village of
Bayfield at their regular
meeting Monday evening,
passed a bylaw to amend the
Holiday Closing Act, to allow.
business establishments to
rer'ain open on Sundays and
Holidays, supported by the
fact that the Village is a
recreational and tourist area
and by a Section of the Retail
Business Act.
It was learned that the
ministry of transportation
and communication has
approved the subsidy on the
paving to be done this year in
:�. the Village by contract to
Lavis of Clinton at a:...cost of
$1.7.45 per ton.

Funeral services for Frank
Cameron, founder and
president of the Cameron and
King Inc., mechanical con-
tractors, were held on
Friday, • March 19, in the Bell
Chapel of the William R.
Hamilton Co., Birmingham,
Mich.
Mr. Cameron, 85, of
Beverly Hills, died Tuesday,
March 16 in Beaumont
Hospital. He was a native .of
Bayfield. Ontario,, and had
lived in Detroit area since
1914, but visited his home
town of Bayfield several
times each year.
• He was a member of the
Detroit Exchange Club and a
member of Ashlar Lodge

Shrine and Scottish Rite.
Mr. Cameron is survived"by
his wife Frances; three sons,
John, William and F. Robert
and one sister. Mrs. Ada Reid
of Seaforth and 10 grand-
children.

Op Thursday, March 25. the
Bayfield Novice hockey team
played host to Zurich Novice
team with Zurich winning the
close game by a score of 3-2.
David Telford scored
Bayfield's first goal and
Robbie Van Aaken scored
their second goal. Both goals
were unassisted.
The Novice team were
invited to participate in
Grand Bend's novice tour-
nament in Zurich over the
weekend. Bayfield played
their first game on Friday
night against Zurich and lost
3-1. David Telford got
Bayfield's only goal assisted

Last Saturday afternoon,
April 3. Bayfield played
against the Thedford Novice
team. with Bayfield's goalie

Albert Hales Dresser of
Bayfield, died February 22,
1976 at the age of 75 years at
his home in Bayfield
following a lengthy illness.
He was born to the late
Christian Charles Dresser
and Janet (Holley) Dresser
on August 13. 1901 in Bayfield
and had resided there all his
life.
Hales, who was a bachelor.
attended &S6 6,°' Stanley
(Bayfitld) Public School and
Bayfield Continuation School
and was an avid
photographer, making his
own developer and enlarger.
He was probably best
known for his market gar-
dening business, along with
his brother Willard. with
whom he resided and who
survives him. The two
brothers also did some lan-
dscaping and assisted many

On Monday. March 29,
Bayfield Peewees played
host to Dublin. losing in a
close score of 4-3. Michael
Telford scored the first goal
in the first period from the
stick of Jeff Merner to put
Bayfield in the game. In the
second period. Dale
Stephenson shook Bayfield up
to try and : stay alert by
winding up with a slap shot
into the net. with an assist by
Robert Boyes and David
Consitt. .
Tying up the game in the
third period. Mike Telford
came back and scored
Bayfield's final goal with

On a good day you would
probably see them in their
boat. fishing. in the Bayfield
River or in Lake Huron.
Hales was a quiet living man
and a very sincere gen-
tleman. He will be missed,
not only by his brother and
the Villagers, but also by the
summer residents who have
come to know 'him as an
honest businessman who sold
the choicest merchandise.
The funeral and committal
service for the late Hales
Dresser was held on
February 25 from Westlake
Funeral -Home in Zurich with
Rev. William Bennett of
Trinity Anglican Church.

Merner to make rhe last and
final game of the season an
exciting one.
Coach Don Johnston pulled
his goalie with a minute left in
the game and put on six
forwards with David Consitt
spending the last half of the
minute in the net. Although
David Consitt isn't the goalie.
he sure tried his hardest to
keep the puck -taut of the net.
The PeeWee team certainly
deserve a round of applause
for the terrific effort they put
into their games this year.

open to seniors aged 60 and
over and juniors 18 to 25 and
single.

Huronview where he now
resides to wish him well.

Bayfield 1 4-H Club
The fifth meeting of
Bayfield 14-H Club was held
at the home of Mrs. Phoenix
on Tuesday. March 30.
.Mrs. Chapman discussed
and told us that the record
books had to be handed in by
April 23 for Achievement
Day. which is on May 8.
We also completed our
history outline and Mrs.
Phoenix and Mrs. Chapman

satin stitch .and the sheaf

again at Mrs. Chapman's'on

We have examined the 1975 financial statements of the Corporation of the Village of Bayfield and its local Boards.
Our examination included a general review.of the accounting procedures and such tests of accounting records and other
supporting evidence as we considered necessary in the circumstances.
In our opinion. these financial statements present fairly the financial position of the°Corporation of the Village of
Bayfield and its local Boards as at December 31. 1975 and the results of their operations for the year then ended. in ac-
cordance with accounting principles generally accepted for Ontario Municipalities. applied on a basis consistent with that
