olversary. The event was a
pot, luck supper and a bean
• Judging contest. A crowd of
.200 enjoyed a grand evening
together.
Following the supper hour,
the M.C.. •Bruce Rathwell
called On Rev. U.S. Stephens
for words et welcome.
There were 26 men who
signed up tor the event and
th# beards were as -varied as
the number of contestants.
The judges for the event were
Mrs. Ruby Triebner, Alf Ross
and 1orne,Dale.
This competent panel of
judges selected the following:
most colourful beard, Rick
Burdge; novelty heard, J.K.
Cornish; bushiest beard,
Merl; Falconer; hest
groomed beard. Bert
Walters; most valliant at.
temPt, John Stephens;
straggliest beard. Jim
Broadfoot; best beard. Bob
Fotheringharn.
The ladies, were presented
with a number on entering
the Church Hall. The number
held by IVIrs. Elsie Henderson
was selected and she reeeive0
a whisker rub from the
champion, Bob
Fotheringham.
Mrs. Dorothy McGregor
sang a comic soko which was
much enjoyed,
Three ladies were selected
from the audience. namely.
Mrs. Joan Grunewald, Mrs.
Marion Rill and M.rs. Jean
RathweiL ihoir task was to
select the softest lace from
the unbearded men present.
The ladies were blindfolded.
William Pepper was chosen
as the man with the skin
you'd love to touch.
The audience were given a
period to visit and then Rev.
E.S. Stephens appeared with
a white suit and the beard cut.

Elgin Thompson voiced the
appreciation of all for those
who had planned and carried
out a truly fem-night. The
planning committee con-
sisted of Bob Broadfoot, Mrs.
Joan Allan, Mrs. Joyce
W Rsori and Don Brodie.
