An invitation to attend the Women's Presbyterian Missionary Society Thankoffering meeting on April 14 at 8 p.m. was ac- cepted. This is to be held ,in St. Mark's Anglican Church. The March meeting of the Anglican Church Women of St. Mark's Anglican Church was held last week at the home of Mrs. Elmer Trom- mer with Mrs. Trommer presiding. ' Mrs. Ian Clark read the scripture lesson. Mrs. Bob Slater read the story on the life of Philip. President. Mrs. Bob Slater took charge of the FOOD STORES Thompson welcomed the guests and were in charge of the guest book. Mrs. Sam Thompson was mistress of ceremonies and started the program with a sing -song led by Mrs. Murray Wilson. Mrs. Gordon Haggitt gave a contest on parts of the body and the winner was Mrs. Arnold Cook. Miss .lane Thompson gave a reading and Mrs. .Ernest Sowden gave a contest on commercials. The bride -elect, Miss Barbara Chamney, her mother, Mrs. Stewart. Chamney 'and the groom - elect's mother, Mrs. Sam Pletch were presented with corsages and escorted to the platform. Mrs. John Thompson read the address of congratulations and gifts were presented. Barbara thanked her many friends for the lovely gifts and a delicious lunch was served. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Raith- by and Mr. John Raithby are on' a three week trip to California. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Weston of Toronto spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Alfred Rollinson and brother. Shower Pink and white wedding bells and streamers decorated the Donnybrook United Church Sunday School last. Friday evening when Miss Barbara Chamney was honored with a bridal shower. It opened with a pot luck dinner at 6:30 p.m. Mr. Robert Broadfoot, Mrs. Joan Allan. Mrs. Joyce Wilson were all in charge of the program. Mr. Bruce Rathwell acted as master of ceremonies and as an auctioneer. Twenty-four contestants lined up in front of the judges, Mr. Lorne Dale, Seaforth, Mr. A. Ross. Staffa and Mrs. Ruby Triebner.
