The Hensall Skating Club
completes another successful
year for boys and girls figure
and power skating. This is a
non -sponsored club super-
vised by Miss Pauline 1401.

ducted the service in Carmel
Presbyterian Church on
Sunday.
Rev. Harold McKillop was
guest speaker and gave a
most informative message as
a representative from the
Alcohol and Drug Concerns. -
The flowers in the church
were in memory of the late
Mrs. R.Y. MacLaren. -

The Three Couples' Club
from Caven, Carmel and
Cromarty Presbyterian
Churches attended the film
"Gospel Road" presented in
First Presbyterian Church
Seafor0 and were en-
tertained at a lunch and
social hour at Cromarty
Presbyterian church
following the film.
On March 24th. 42 par-
ticipated in a bowling event at
the Zurich Bowling Lanes,
with six teams playing two
games. Winners are as
follows . ladies' high, 'Bev
Moir; ladies' consolation,
Eleanor Thompson; gent's
high. Ivan Norris; children's
high. Bruce Thompson;
children's consolation, David
Dougall.
A delicious lunch was
served by the owners of the
Zurich Bowling Lanes. The
next "Get -Together" will be
April 26th in the school -room
of Carmel Presbyterian
Church for a "Fun -Night"
with the Moirs', Campbells'
and Tinneys' in charge.

The ministry of transportation and communications closed the Fifth Avenue entrance to
Vanastra last week, and may Vanastra residents are not happy with the move. Bot the
miplstry of transportation antk communications and the OPP have said the road, opened

Mervyn Hayter returned
home last Wednesday, after
three weeks in Exeter
hospital.
We'd like to express the
sincere sympathy of the
community to Mrs. Harold
Elliott in the loss of her
husband last Thursday. The
regulars at the coffee counter
will miss him too.

members of the mobile home
plant on Oxford street west in
Hensall received a plaque in
recognition of 110.086 hours of
work without time loss due to
injury.
• At the same time. six
foremen at the plant received
certificates for their par-
ticipation in a , successful
safety program.
At the recreation vehicle
plant on Mill Street, a
presentation was made to
John Mustard on behalf of the
employees. The number of
man hours at this plant
without loss of working time
through injury reached a
total of 193,832 hours.
In speaking for president
Charles Tunks. safety co-
ordinator Geoffrey Hoyle
said, "We wish to extend
sincere congratulations to all
employees and management
for this important ac-
complishment."
He continued, "the Bendix
organization places a very
high priority on its safety
programs across Canada.
Therefore. special ap-
preciation is warranted ,on
this record breaking per-
formance. It is the earnest
hope of the company that all
plants will surpass these high
standards in the years
ahead."
Hoyle added. "The 193.832
injury free hours at ,,the
Hensall recreational vehicle
plant is a record for our
United States, Canada and
European divisions which
total 33 plants. The Hensall
plants are the best in our
Canadian division as far as
safety records are con-
cerned."
