A mass rally is being
pLanned in Toronto at Queen's
Park this Saturday, April 3. in
order to protest the closing of
hospitals in Ontario.
Buses will.. be leaving at
7 :30 a.m. Saturday.
Interested and concerned
citizens may catch the bus at
the Mall in Goderich, the
arena in Clinton. Vanastra
Centre, Blyth Town Hall or
Londesboro Hall. The cost of

social hour followed.

The fourth meeting of
Auburn 2. 4-11 club was held
at the horde of Yvonne Bean
with the president Sandra
Popp in charge. The meeting
was opened with the 4-11
pledge followed by the roll
call which was answered by
all members. The minutes of
the previous meeting were
adopted as read by the
secretary Yvonne Bean. The
girls showed their designs for
their free choice articles they
had found or drawn. The
Leaders. Trudy Machan and
Faye Seers discussed the uses
for the twisted chain stitch
and the free chhice article, A
discussion fo`1jowed an
designs which, could go on
certain Articles that they may
choose to make. Theleaders
demonstrated the couching
crossed and couching outline
stitches. The girls worked
these on their samples:
The fifth meeting was held
at the home of the leader;
Trudy Machan and Jayne
Arthur. vice-president was in
charge and. opened the
meeting with the pledge
followed by the roll call -and
minutes. Plans were made to
hold the next meeting, April
5th. Trudy and Faye
discussed the history of
embroidery and filled out the
hand-out sheets on this
subject: The girls reviewed
the colour and design for free
choice article. Faye and
Trudy demonstrated the satin
and sheaf filling stitches and'
the members worked them on
their samples. Trudy a,nd
Faye showed the girls how to
make the twisted cord stitch.
The girls are to purchase
their fabric and other sup-
plies for their free choice
article.

government feelings in the
Huron -Middlesex provincial

MPP Jack Riddell does not
feel the people of the riding
are anxious for a provincial
election.
Mr. Riddell explained that
the Liberal caucus had been
asked by Liberal leader
Stuart Smith to go back to the
people of their ridings and get
"grass-roots" feeling.
"There's no question that
there is dissatisfaction with
the restraint program and
how it has affected hospitals.
