After it week's break, it's
*Me once again to SW ..gid son e
spotlight on a• SS student.
This week is a real treat (tor
all the friends of our "victim
especially), because we now
proudly announce Ti
Jewson as our Student of the
Wee t. If Tim's reading he
had better stop b go home
and pretend that the day
never started!
Tim's nomination camme as
a direct result of a couple
suggestion slips being turned
in, In f c.t one of our "stool
pigeons" listed a full ten
reasons for picking Tim. How
could Iopassibly refuse??
Down tobusiness. Tim has
been involved in a wide range
of student activities (come to
think of it, he has a wide
range of personal activities
too! Hmmtn.,.) He's been an
active Students' Council for a
long time. As if this isn't
enough of an endurance test,
he's got two years of being a
Prefect to his credit.
Tim is probably best known
around here for his par-
ticipation in sports. He is a
past at (but AthleticNasAssociation
President
im-
peached!)
Last September he was
d sitiderti
•
well-known► for his" dashing
around on the football field.
Unfortunately, • laly this
might prove a bit difficult.
'Tial . actually got the in-
terception which resulted in
the Huron -Perth title for our
senior Redmen. ids was
cause for some jubilation and
celebration, Right, Tim?) He
was named Most Valuable
Player as a Junior Basketball
player. His other sports in-
terests include track and
field, soccer and badminton
(where does he get the time?)
In 1973-74 he was named
Junior Outstanding Athlete.
Believe it or not, Tim still
gets. time to do a whole lot of
other things besides! (Relax
Tim, that's not what I
meant). He is the head of
advertising at CHSS and his
ambition is tobe P.R. man for
Mr. Whitely! Actually in
advertising he holds the,
position of S.G.A.D.P.
(Strategical Genius and
Assorted Dirty Plots ! )
Tim has also done a bit of
acting, (Clark Gable eat your
heart out) in Oklahama and
Annie Get Your Gun. I
wonder if he was "Buffalo
Bill?" Would you believe,
-Wild Bill?,.
How could I write
something about Tim without

must mention is that Tim is
one of the two "Surtranap"
freaks Lobe found at CUSS. In .
fact, he supplied •the record
for the jukebox, and everyone
with a spare just loves him
for it.
One last reason for our
choice of Tim this week, was
his reported love of seeing his
name in the paper. I think
that might all be changed
now!
One thing is for certain:
Tim is one of our most in-
volved students (when he's
not involvedelsewhere) and
keeps CHSS spirit high.
Speaking of high spirits, I
hope those hiccups clear up-
P.S. Thank you for the
suggestions you have written
for the Suggestion Box. I hope
to follow up on each one in the
weeks to come. For example,

heerleaders are human too
Dear Students:
For a long time now, we
have taken much abuse from
you, the student body, and we
have finally decided to rebel.
You may not have realized
this, but 'cheerleaders are
human beings and have
feelings and pride, the' same
as every single one of you.
Unlike other teams. such as
football and basketball,
cheerleading is a team that
must work together as a
group, not as individuals. We
are active from September
until June and in this time
period. we must cheer for all
home games as well as two
Huron -Perth championships.
Let us give you a brief
summary of what our year
has been like so far. The year
began with a great Senior
Football team that did w in
the 1975 Huron -Perth football
final. Every night the team
would practice no matter
what the weather. At the
same time, we were putting
in approximabely three hours
every day and in the middle
of October, began practicing
at night also for our com-
petition.
We placed second and all
that -we heard from you, the
student body. was ''Are you '
ever .lousy" and many more
equally intelligent remarks.
We would like to thank you for
your sincere support.
We have cheered for many
games since September, but
the one that we remember the
most was a midget boys game
that we cheered for in early
3ianuary. In the middle of our
halftime. the boys decided
that they would go onto the
floor and shoot some baskets
for.practice.
Lye also think that our pep
rallies would receive a
warmer reaction if they were
put on at the Maitland

Girls, how many times
have you heard "1 can't
understand you" or "I'll
never understand women".
These are common sentences
of the opposite sex's
vocabulary. Males feel that
women are so confusing au -
hard to understand that they
will never attempt to sort out
what they say and think:
I would say that there isn't,
one male in the worl;t
would admit that this is really
their lack of knowledge and
understanding rather than
the inferiority of the so called
..weaker sex.''
If some of the males (only
some) in this world would
admit that they weren't the
next best thing to the Greek
Gods, they may believe that
their mental block .is what
causes them not to be able to
understand what is hap-
pening ina woman's mind.
If more men would stop
refusing to understand.
women the whole world would
be better off!
be rich, snobs, or beautiful.
but do you really know what
cheerleaders have to be?
They have to be accepted by
you. the student body. for
what they are, not -something
that fulfills your image of a
cheerleader. Next time you
pass one of us in the hall, say
hi or just give us a smile. You
may be surprised to discover
that we are very nice people! -
Have a nice day!
Sincerely
Nancy Keuhi and
the cheerleaders
