(News -Record photo) Rebekahs host provincial head The Rebekah Assembly president of Ontario, Miss Helen Sheppard of North Bay, made her visit to Clinton's Huronic Rebekah Lodge last Monday evening. Prior to the meeting, she was guest of honour at a dinner party at the home of our Noble Grand, Mrs. Kay Wise. During her address, she made mention of the eye research program. funded by the IOOF and Rebekahs, being carried out at the University of Toronto. Any persons interested were welcome . to visit the laboratory where Dr. Matuk would gladly explain what he is doing. Her own project this year is to raise funds for a new kit- chen in the Barry Home for the elderly. The home, under Local PC delegates feted by federal MP BY DICK A,TK EY Bob McKinley, popular MP for Huron -Middlesex and his gracious wife, Audrey, were hosts to some of the people from the riding, including delegates who were at- tending the recent national convention of the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada., in Ottawa. This informal gathering was a breakfast in a private dining room of the Parliamentry Restaurant, after which Kevin MacLeod guided the party on a tour of the Parliament Buildings. The guests were par- ticularly interested in the magnificent library which was the only portion of the Parliament Buildings saved - because of heavy steel doors - in the wartime Holocaust of 1916. During the visit to the "Green Chamber" - the House of Commons - on request. Bob described his duties as chief whip of the official opposition. His ex- planation was quite enlightening. and indicated a strong sense of duty on the MP's part. Guests of the McKinleys were Fred Heaman. Delegate.
