On the more serious side of
life, two Clinton girls
received word that they had
passed. their Grade 2
Rudiments (Theory) exams
with ,the Royal Conservatory
of Music, Toronto. The girls
are Elizabeth Reid, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Reid
Townsend St. and Jane
Symons, daughter of Mayor
and Mrs. Don Symons,

Carol Carter respectively.
Not all bathtubs are used
for ablutions only - nor for
champagne either! While
talking to Mrs. Florence
Pulle-n, wife of Huron
County's Ag. -Rep. Don Pullen
- we found she has a new use
for her bath tub. One of her
lambs was born prematurely
.the other day and had no
nursing mother - so the little
woolly bundle was moved into
a box in the bathtub - with all
the comforts of a Holiday Inn
plus room service bottle
feeding. Florence is one of the
best authorities we know for
"1T.L.C." Tender Loving Care
for birds and animals.

jug saved $557,000. over and
above the cost they would
have incurred had. they
purchased their milk irr the
throwaway pouch pack..
Takenannually, this
represents a Saving Of over
$6,500440. Those are big
savings and they exist
because milk in the refillable
jug costs from 3c II c less
than the same product in the
throwaway --
The article goes on to point
up the merits of the refillable
jug, both from the con-
sumer's standpoint 'and from
the environmentalists - there
naturally being no chance of
pollution with jugs as com-
pared to throwaway bags.
The report closes with the
suggestion Old consumers
concerned with economy and
conservation might like to
indicate their preference. If
so, please write to the above
address and state in a few
words your preference to see
the refillable jug continue in
its present role, or not.

While talking to a member
of my far-flung family, last
weekend, this , one out in,
Vancouver, I learned, first,
that they had heard all about
our "dreadful" winter and,
second, that the daffodils are
in bloom out there in God's
country. Never mind, when
we are "finally" enjoying
summer they will likely be
plagued with that liquid
precipitation . for which they
are so well known.
Paul Stephenson, left, received the Jack Peck Trophy
last Saturday .night during minor hockey weekend. A
player on each team from each game, was picked as Most ,
Valuable Player. (News -Record photo)

Dog Problem
We are experiencing some
problems with dogs on the
skating rink in Addison Park.
They are running off with
the children's hats and mitts
as well as bothering them
while they are skating_
We would ask that parents.
not allow their dogs to run
loose or let their children take
them to the skating rink, in
order that all those using the
rink can do so without the
dogs bothering them.
Lost
Pat and Ben Bridges of 3
Halifax have lost their dog
and would appreciate hearing
from anyone who may have
seen or know his
whereabouts. "SHANDY" is
a Scottish Collie (looks like
Lassie) who has been missing
for almost two weeks.
Anyone with information
may contact Ben or Pat at
482-7910.
