The Wayne kennedy
family, whose RR '1, Lon-
desboro farm house was
destroyed by fire on May 18,
are busily rebuilding their
home and are grateful to their
neighbours for putting them
on the road to recovery.
Donations totalled nearly
54,000.

Sergeants' Mess at the
Canadian Forces Base, which
has, been vacant since the
departure or the Air Force,
has been sold to'Cecil Lewis
of Lucan, who owns the
Shillelagh Motor Hotel and
the Old Central Hotel in that

Mr. Lewis, when he at-
tended the Tuckersmith
Township Council meeting
last Tuesday night, told
council he plans to turn it into
a restaurant and cocktail
ounge. He said it has a
seating capacity of 600 to -800.
He said he hopes to have the

Sunday fire destroys home
of Londesboro area family

A Londesboro family of six
was left homeless last Sunday
when fire completely
destroyed their two storey
farmhouse on Concession 8
and 9 of Hullett Township.
Mr- and Mrs. Wayne
Kennedy and their four
children who range in age
from one to 10 years, escaped
the burning house -with only
the clothes on their backs.
They lost everything in the
blaze which levelled the
frame structure on their
farm, about six miles north of
Clinton.
What started out as a poor
spring, following one of the
wettest and coldest Aprils in
30 years, has blossomed into
one of the best Mays in 10
years, according to Huron
County agricultural
specialists.
Farmers have been able to
get up on the land and. most
have now caught up in their -
spring chores.
The 1975 salary agreement
between the Huron County
Board of Education and
secondary teachers was
ratified at a- special board:
