Despite an outstanding perforivance in net by Claude Daw, the Clinton .bafitains were
outshot and outhustied by Mitchell in one game of the Clinton Bantam Tournament Iast
weekend. Clinton lost 54, but won the consolation trophy when their opposition, Point

Bantam tourney off togood start
The eighth annual Clinton
bantam hockey tournament
got off to a. good start last
Saturday after poor weather
Friday night- postponed the
first two games of the tour-
ney.
On Saturday, the AAA
action got things going with
Oshawa defeating Brantford,
winning 3-1 on shots on goal in
a five minute overtime period
after the game had ended at a
1-1 tie in regulation time.
Waterloo gained a chance at
the championship defeating
Etobicoke 5-1, but only to
have Oshawa squeak out a 4-3
winto take the championship.
In the AAA consolation, it
just wasn't Brantford's day,
as they once again lost 5-2 to
Etobicoke, after ending
regulation time at 3-3.
in the AA action. it was
Simcoe gaining a. bye• to the
finals as St. Thomas dropped
out at the -last minute.
Huron East surprised Owen
Sound with a 5-0 win to earn
the right to play Simcoe for
the chair"npionship, but
weren't so lucky against
Simcoe as they lost 8-2.
The A series saw Chatham
Minor defeat Simcoe Minor,

Fighting to remain in period, Port Elgin scored on a
fourth place and gain the final deflected shot .off Sunocos'

Club held a Ladies' Jitney
when 40 ladies enjoyed
curling, followed by a pot luck
supper. Monday. January 12,
a team will travel to Brussels
for a Bonspiel.
