The leaders are Allan Haugh and Beth Cooper. Elected for office were - president Jeff Allan, vice- president Bob Wilson, secretary Jane Allan, press reporter Dianne Wilson. The Youth Council represen- tatives are Jim Nivans and Bob Wilson. Activities for the meetings were discussed. The Bluewater Kennet Club held its meeting in the Queen Elizabeth School, Goderich on Thursday, January 8, 1976. Plans were made to have representatives from the Canadian Kennel Club attend the February meeting and advise this new club on the necessary steps to hold point shows and licensed obedience trials. Reports presented in- dicated the club bad 14 members , of which 13 cob - peed at the HuronMatch last fall. Other popular features that will be continued are the Junior match that attracted 13 competitors who won 1130 in prizes, the cross log sawing contest with six competitors and the horse shoe pitching classes in which nine teams participated and took away 7,in prizes. Huron Warden Anson McKinley presided for the election of officers when W.J. Leeming of McKillop was named president. Other of- ficers are past president John Clarke; first vice, Jim Armstrong; second vice, Girven Reid; and. secretary - treasurer, Russell Bolton. McKillop Township Council It lds first meeting Alien Campbell has been appointed the McKillop Township Representative to the . Ausable-Bayfield Con- servation Authority for 1976 by the McKillop Township Council, which met last. Menday, January 5. Mr. Campbell has also been appointed to 'the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority. Harvey Craig has been appointed to the Blyth District fire area board and Arthur Anderson has been appointed to the Seaforth Dommunity Hospital Board. In other business, council has hired McConnell, Stewart and Devereaux as their solicitors again, for the year 1976. Council has • endorsed Stephen Townships resolution which is against the Hydro Nuclear Generating Plant, proposed for Huron County. By -taw number one has been passed by Council which permits them to borrow up to 1140,000 for current ex- penditures for the year. Council also agreed to sell land to Seaforth. forming an intersection at Chalk and Duke Streets. Leeming and Russell, Bolton were named representatives to the OPA Convention on February 16th and l tb. ,Jim Armstrong, who.- was re-elected OPA director, listed future OPA matches and dates. These are: 1976 - Br lee; 1477 - Frnntenac; 1978 - Huron; 1979 Kent; 1980 - Oxford; .1981 - Wellington. Sinicoe and Elgin have fitso• .expressed interest he said in hosting a match. George Hildebrand, leader of Seaforth High School Band spoke about the , Band travelling to Fort Myers, Florida - February 7th - 15th and the association agreed to donate 150 toward travelling expenses. An earlier motion that the amount be 1250 was defeated. The meeting expressed appreciation .to John Clark, president, and " Russell Bolton, secretary -treasurer, as well as to John Clark for hosting '75 Match and to Bill Leeming and John Clark for leadership in the Sodbusters Club.
