Grand Bend Atoms came to
Bayfield to play the Atom
team, ending in a 6 - 6 tie.

Reverend Bill Bennett, the
new rector of Trinity
Anglican Church in Bayfield,
and St. James Anglican
Church, Middleton, is no
stranger to residents of
Bayfield. /Wand his family
have their own cottage there
and have been vjsiting
Bayfield every summer for
thePast72 yelifs=. .
Before moving to Bayfield
permanently, Rev. Bennett
was rector of a three-point
parish in Ridgetown, near
Chatham. His Churches were
the Church of the Advent,
Church of the Redeemer,
%Highgate and St. Johns --
Morpeth Church..
Rev. Bennett was asked by
the Right Rev, T. David B.
Ragg, Bishop of Huron to take
the call in Bayfietd.
"I was` happy to accept the
position," he said.
This past summer, Rev.
Bennett and his wife' Jeanne
went to Australia to visit with
one of their sons and a
daughter. Upon their return.
the Bennetts visited with
their son Robert, a minister
in Chesley while recovering
from jet lag.

Bennett fell down some steps
and broke his arm in four
different places. He is still
recovering from the fall.

Fortner resident passed
A former area resident. Mr.
Emery Denomme of
Tecumseh, passed away on
Christmas Day. He was in his
63rd year.
The late Mr, Dencennte was
born and raised in Stanley
Township south of. Bayfield
and was the youngest son of
the late Mr. and Mrs. William
Denomme.
. He is survived by his wife
and seven:Children and three
sisters; Mrs. Peter (Leanor)
