A variety program followed

The holiday is over and
things are back in full swing
at the Curling Club. The
second draw of the men's,
ladies'. competitive and
mixed leagues begin this
week.
In addition to the above
leagues. there has been a new
league admitted, and one the
club has needed for some
time. The Junior Curling Club
was established over the
holiday and it is shaping up to
be a great success. Over 60
Junior Curlers have joined
the league and they will be
curling on Tuesdays at 7 p.m.
and Saturdays at 6 p.m.
They elected their
executive at a meeting on
December 23. Dave Reid is
president; Fay Storey. vice
president and Jane Ribey,
secretary -treasurer.
The • membership com-
mittee consists of Glen
• Stewart, Lynn Henderson,
David Underwood and John
Primeau. The draw coin-
mittee is Rick Stewart, David
Ste. Marie and Brian Vincent.

draw, beating out Jim
Cunningham of the -Thursday
night draw. Winner of the
Men's was not available.
On Sunday, December 28,
the Seaforth Senior's team
played against the Vanastra
Seniors with Seaforth winning
two games straight -This
gave them the subdivision
title and they travelled on to
Tara on January 4, where
they won their first and third
games to claim the division
over a team from Meaford.
They will play the semi-finals
in Kitchener -Waterloo on
Januaryll.
Club playoffs created quite
an interest for both curlers
and spectators this past two
weeks.
Three teams entered the
British Consol , playoffs this
year. Dr. George Alexander
skipped one team with Gerald
Smith, Clayton Fraser and
Paul Storey. Bob Wilson
skipped another with Bill
Campbell Jr., Doug Rowcliffe
and Bob Ste. Marie. Rob
(.1.A.) Robichaud skipped the
third with Neil Hemingway,
Joe Wilson and John Pat-
terson Jr. They played double
knockout and it went to the
fifth game to declare
Alexander the winner over
Wilson. The Alexander- rink
will represent Seaforth in the
subdivisiuu padyuits ifl
Goderich on - Saturday,
_January 10. There will be
some excellent curling there.

Another stronly contested
double knock -out series
progressed to see the Cam-
pbell rink finally wing over
Wilson in the fifth game. The
Campbell rink goes on to
represent Seaforth in the
subdivision playoffs in Exeter
