Last Thursday night in
Clinton, the Clinton Colts
received spectacular
goaltending from Dennis
Fleischauer on route to an
impressive 7-1 triumph over
the Paisley Intermediates.
Fleischauer frustrated
Juveniles down Goderich
The Clinton Juveniles.
sporting new uniforms,
downed Goderich by a 44
score last Sunday night.
Goderich scored first at
9;01 of the first period, but at
the 13 minute mark Dave
Denial, scored on a power
play goal on a play set-up
from Dave Counter and Bill
Roy.
At 17:51 Greg Butler scored
to make it 2-1 as Goderich
was once again short handed.
In the second period.
Clinton carne out skating fast
as Paul Walter fed Peter
Thompson a lead pass at the
54 second mark, to make it 3-
1
Robert Harkes played an
excellent second period
Necking 21 Goderich shots,
In the final period, Brian
Newington scored unassisted
to make it 4-1, but at 6:07 with
Phil McCake off for high
sticking. Goderich scored to
make it 4-2. Goderich kept the
pressure on only to have time
run out.

The weekend saw some
very 'good bonspiel action
from a couple of our local
rinks.
Attending a Cash Spiel in
St. Marys on Saturday.
December 13, were Bob
Wilson, Bill Campbell, Doug
Roweliffe and Glenn Hayter.
They came through with the
second top score for the day
and brought home a good
purse for their efforts,
The Legion Zone
Playdowns were held on
Sunday, December 14, in the
Vanastra Curling Club. Two
teams represented Seaforth:
ane consisted of John E.
Patterson, Dave Cornish,
Lloyd Rowat and Dick
Whiteley; the other featured
Wildred Titfard, Ray Hut-
chinson, Charlie Woods and
John Cairns. The Patterson
rink placed in third thus
qualifying to continue on to
Galt ort January 4.
I promised to give you
names for a seniors team to
represent our club in the
Seniors Playdowos on
December 28. They are John
E. Patterson. Dave Cernish,
Des Cassidy and Wildred
Titford. Remember, this
playdown is hosted by our
club so let's have some
spectators out on the 38th to
cheer our team on.
Keep in mind the two day
bonspiel in Seaforth on
January 17 and 18. Contact
anyone on the Bonspiel
Committee to enter your rink
or write your entry on the
poster, upstairs at the club. .
By the way: did you know
that rule 12(6) states that "An
end shall be considered as
decided whenthe skips or
acting skips, in charge of the

as the Milverton Four -Wheel
Drives edged the Colts 4-2 last
Sunday afternoon in
Milverton.

MacDonald.
Netting the twine for the
Colts was Harvey Atchison
and captain Rick Prernlin.
Referees Nixon and But-
cher handed out 12 minor
penalties with each team
being assessed six apiece.

The next evening, Friday
December 12, Clinton tied
Zurich 3.3 on home ice.
The first goal was scored by
Wayni Tideswell, when he
received the puck from Rod
Blake, The second goal in the
first period was scored by
Rod Blake after receiving a
pass from Mery Taylor.
Clinton didn't bend the
twine in the second period,
but Wayne Tideswell flashed
the red light in the third
period on a pass from Larry.
Bunn.
On Saturday night,
December 13. Clinton blanked
Hensall 4-0 on home ice, with
Clinton goalie Dave
Williscraft picking up the
shutout.
In the first period, Marty
Baker and Jamie Cooper
assisted Wayne Tideswell in
putting a dent in the net.
There was no scoring in the
second period.
Halfway through the third
period. Tony Denotnme fed
Wayne Tieeswell a lead pass
to make the score 3-0.
Jeff Colclough notched a
goal two minutes later, and
Jeff Gibbings scored the last
goal 30 seconds later.

The Clinton Raiders girls'
hockey team kept Seaforth off
the svoteboard last Friday
night and the Clinton girls
came up with a 2-0 vita.
Darlene Chow= proved her
worth in the Clinton nets,
getting the shut -out.
Clinton scorers were
Debbie Wilkinson and Sandra
Burns, with assists coniiog
from Ruth Ann Neihms and
Patti Kay.
The Raiders host St. Marys
tonight at Clinton (December
Is) at 6:30 p.m. and the girls
are looking for more bus
support.

An all together effort and
great spirit sparked a six goat
night for Tony Gibbings. Paul
Stephenson put away three,
Ian- Peck notched two with
singles to Mike Wilson, Brian
Tompkins, Daye Jewitt. Jeff
Taylor and Jim Fleming.
Good pass connections and
fast skating gave Clinton the
Goaltenders were Mike
Witliscraft and Roy Brown.

Dublin proved to be too much
for Clinton last weekend. At

Seaforth on Friday, Clinton
led 3.1 at the end of the first
period with goals from Ian
Peck and Sean Van Dongen.
Dublin scored one in each of
the remaining periods to win
3-2. Mike Williscraft played in
the netior Clinton.
On Saturday, Dublin came
to Clinton and handed out
Clinton another defeat. 54.
The teams battled in a close
game, each boy giving full
measure of his talent.
Scorers for Clinton were
Jim Fleming. Ian Peck and
Tony Gibbings. Roy Brown
played in net for Clinton.
