John Diefenbaker, Tommy
Douglas and the legendary
hero. Gabriel Dumont, are
among the: characters
recreated by David Frac. Eric
Peterson, Ted Johns (a native
of this area), Miles Potter,
Janet Amos, and Anre.Anglin
(wife of director Paul
Thompson).
Each of these actors is well
known here for performances
in "The Farm Show" and
subsequent Passe Murailte
productions. •
John Diefenbaker saw a
special performance of "The
West. Show" given in his
honor as part of the
Saskatoon celebration of his
eightieth birthday. The actors
alternately ,roved and
delighted the audience with
accurate and occasionally
outrageous glimpses into the
life of Mr. Diefenbaker.
A red river cart was built
for the show by Bob Pearson,
stage manager for Theatre
Passe Muraille and a native
of Brussels. The use made of
the cart in the production has
been described by a reviewer
as "fabulously imaginative".
"More satirically funny
than `The Farm Show'." say
reviews from Saskatchewan.
.• 'The West Show' catches
the many facets -of life on the
Prairies from the Riel
Rebellion to recent farmer
demonstrations with intuitive
understanding."
. This show is fine family
entertainment. and the Blyth
performance will be the only
one in Western Ontario°.
Performance time is 8:3e
p.m, and tickets are $3.O0 for
adults and 5240 for children
under 14.

available by phoning Blyth
