Mrs. Sandeman. NDP
member for Peterborough,
asked the minister of con-
sumer and commercial af-
fairs whether he was aware of
the different requirements
made for married women
who wish, to get credit from a
credit union or a bank as
opposed to those made for
married men. She asked
whether the minister was
going to bring in legislation to
end discrimination in credit
rules.
Mr. Randleman replied
that he was aware of the
discriminatory aspects of
credit granting practices on
the part of certain in-
stitutions, but that a set of
guidelines have just been
completed which will be put
to industry for comment. The
minister said he hopes to
have an announcement to
correct the situation before
the end of November.

Dangerous
Some of the most
dangerous intersections are
in residential areas, where
there are narrow streets,
parked cars, obstructed
views. Too many drivers go
tearing along impatiently or
inattentively, states the
Ontario Safety League,
without thinking that
driveways, parking lots and
commercial building en-
trances create intersections
out of what seems to be mid -
block streets.
