Cheerleaders have big day
Saturday, November 8, was
a big day for MSS. The
cheerleaders had the annual
football season corapetition to
attend that morning. The
mpetitions were held in
Exeter. Dy 9:30 a.m. the
cheerleaders were there and
ready to cheer.
There were five schools
competing in the competition
and all had hopes of winning
the trophy. Each squad was
required to do a routine of
four cheers and a few chants,
each taking about five

You can be a Itt'esaver
By Marian Doucette
Someone's life depends on,
you. Perhaps you think that
is too dramatic but it is very
true. 'there is something that
you, and only you can do to
help the seriously injured and
ill. Give Blood.
Only a small percentage of
Canada's population
regularly donates blood, and
as a result, supplies often fall
dangerously low. Due to the
enthusiasm of young
volunteers, the age for
donating blood is low; girls
may donate blood at age
eighteen and boys at
seventeen.

Many people say that
giving blood is better than
donating rnoney, because it
doesn't buy office supplies,
and you know the blood goes
directly to someone who
really needs it. Another good
thing about being a blood
donor is that even when you
can't spare a dime there's
something you can give to
help others.
When confronted with the
idea of donating blood, people
give all kinds of excuses but
really they're afraid. Most
people find though that
donating doesn't hurt at all
and that it's a great feeling to
be giving of yourself.
Teenagers, especially, are
apprehensive that they will
be among the few who feel
queasy after giving, but the
worst part is the needle prick
when they take the blood
sample.

Last Friday night rny

I gave in but needless to say
