For the past two editions of
the Huron Shopping News, we
have. had, to call en outside
heir!' to enact the dor to door
delivery. Two weeks ago the
members of the Centennial
Band, under the supervision
of Bill Craig and, Seamus
Doherty, made the rounds.
Tuesday, the Shopper was
delivered by students of the
Clinton and District Christian
School, directed by Ralph
Scbuurntan.

carried a Victoria Cross in
the Rern embrance. Day
parade last Tuesday in
Clinton. The medal was won
by a Clinton native, Harry
Miner, during the First World

finalized for the forthcoming

On November 10,1975 a new
issue ' of 24 million stamps
commemorating the Royal
Canadian Legion was put into
circulation. The stamp
features a light gray
background resembling stone
with the inscripti9n The
Royal Canadian -Legion.
There is a brass -colored
bugle on the right side and the
Legion crest in red and gold
on the left.
In the words of Postmaster

Royal Canadian Legion,it is
an organization which has
dedicated itself to the welfare
of veterans and /their
dependents, to community

Huron -Middlesex will
benefit from 30 ,lobs creating
65$ weeks of work through
approval of seven Local
Initiatives Program projects.
Federal funding totalling
$100,000 was announced for
the projects last week by
Manpower and Immigration
Minister Robei t Andras.
Projects approved include
The Blyth Centre For the Arts
which has been funded for
19,600 to make interior im-
provementsto the Myth
MemoriaHall and will
provide jobs for five people.
The Three Links for Senior
Citizens, sponsored by the
Hensel' IOOF,is being funded
for $9000 and is employing
two people to renovate an old
building for ,a Senior Citizens'
Recreation centre,.
Maitland Valley Enhan-
cement Program • in
Wroxeter, sponsored by the
Maitland Valley Con-
serva on a o
funded 113,809 for the
removal "of dead trees,
repairing and painting picnic
tables, construction end
installation of new
playground equipment and
preparation of new con-
servation areas for public
recreation. The project will
provide employment for four
people.
Area projects are expected
to begin within a few weeks
and will recruit unemployed
�t,exte►ada
►wie�. 'T'h+labs
will last until the projects are
completed, or no tater than
next June 26.
LIP is a federal program
designed to create jobs
during peak times of seasonal
unemployment.
Following is a list of other
project approvals announced
last week:
