Bread Brewers
The fifth meeting , the
Landesboro I Bread Brewers
was held on October 29 at 7:30
at the home of Mary Buffinga
with all members present. We
opened with the pledge, then
Janice read the minutes of
the last meeting.
Mary asked the roll call and
each member answered.
Mary explained how sour
dough bread got its name'.
Tonight we made hamburger
patii stacks. Each girl took
paRpreeeifing then.
Tonight we discussed
characteristics of a good loaf
of bread, and bread faults,
and their causes. We
discussed things that you can
make with dried bread.
Mary and Hattie read and
explained the sections in our
book for meeting five, while
the hamburger stacks were in
the oven. We closed with the
motto and then the stacks
were served and enjoyed by
everyone. -by Debbie

LaSt Wednesday afternoon.
I visited the Tuckersmith
Vanastra Day Care.
As I entered, I could hear
' the children singing songs
with their teachers.
On the doors, their menu
for the week was posted.
Today, chili with salad, bread
and butter and pumpkin
tarts. I bypassed the singing
group by going through the
auditorium. could in the
kitchen see Bill, our chef was
preparing grape juice and
rice crispy squares for the
-Tidy Care snacks. In the next
room Pat Semple was on the
nigged floor with,five of the
younger children. Everyone
was smiling and happy.
For 20 minutes I sat and
watched. The Tuckersmith-
Vanastra Day Care welcomes
visiors and it is a warm ex-
rience to go there.Karen
cEwan asked meto remind
that Mothers half days are
available at the Day Care.
The fee is $2.501 per half
day.Half day with dinner is
$3, and a hill day .is $5 per
child.
