in the e.xpensive care unit."
A very happy event took
place at the home of Arnold
Makins on October 12, when
his father and mother, Lloyd
and Esther, celebrated their
Golden Wedding Anniver-

They were the first couple
to be married in the Bayfield
United Church Manse after
Church Union took place and
were married by the Rev.
H.F. Kennedy on Oct. 10,1925.
Lloyd is the son of the late
William and Mary Ann
Makins of near Varna and
Esther is the daughter of
William Henry and Alveretta
Talbot of Stanley Township.
Mrs. Freida Scetchmer was
bridesmaid for her sister and
Roy Scotchmer was best
man.
Four children were born of
this union; Arnold in Bayfield
and Marion in London. Tho
sons are deceased.
Mrs. Makin parents
celebrated their golden
wedding anniversary in 1939
in the same home.

length gown in autumn
shades accentuated with a
white orchid corsage and a
gold locket and earrings, a
gift from her husband.
