While developing brain
fever trying to conjure up
ways of defeating the mail
strike and getting this week's
edition out to at least as many
of our subscribers as possible
- the following gibberish took
form infthe writer's befuddled
mind. -
Postal Plight
There's a postal strike in•oar town all right.
The wickets are closed, no one in sight.
' We may look inside, but can't get in,
What have we done? It's not our sin!
Meanwhile, you can multiply our grief
By millions of others- it's beyond belief.
They tell us one minute to send our mail
Away "Early for Christmas" - do not fail,
Then, how in thunder can we comply
When there's no parcel clerk, iio Stamps too buy.
Dear God, - it's the innocent public who bear
The annoyance, - moreover it just isn't fair.
When all strikes are over, here's the way it will be
For you postal workers, - we just cannot see
Any heavenly cloud for you up there,
Butsomeplace hotter - you know WHERE! f,
