The bride is the daughter of
. and Mrs. Eric Collins of
Clinton and the mom is the son
of Mr. andMrs. George Wise of
Severn Bridge.
The double ring ceremony
was performed by Rev. S.
Sharpies, rector of the parish
and the organist was Miss
Cathy Potter.
Given in marriage by her
father, Cindy looked lovely in a
floor -length gown of sheer
organza. The bodice had an
insert square bib of sheer lace,
outlined by a. ruffle and dainty
braid trim The rtecklhre hada
little stand-up collar and, the
a sleeves puffed delicately at the
elbow and gathered into a cuff
at the wrist. The full circular
skirt fell gracefully into a
chapel length train. Her
headpiece was a matching
Juliet cap which held her long
silk illusion veil trimmed with
matching braid. She carried a
bouquet at Mauve and white
carnations with blue
Following the ceremony, the
formal reception was held at
Hully-Gully, 'Varna where the
guests were received by the
bride's mother, who wore a
floor -length gown of soft pink
Jersey*** with an Mine skirt.
Tice•sleeveless dress had a
jacket of SWISS guipure Iace
with long full sleeves gathered
into a cuff at the wrist She
wore silver accessories and a
carsgga of mauve carnations,
white stephanotis and baby's
breath.
. The groom's mother assisted
wearing a floor -length gown of
black crepe with a red panel
down the front. She wore white
accessories and a corsage of
red canations with white
stephanotis and baby's breath.

presided as Master of
Ceremonies and Bruce
Flerain' g o Trentan, a close.
friend of the bride, proposed
the toast to the bride. The
music for the dance that
followed was provided by 'The
Harbourlites' .
For a motor trip to Niagara
Falls and Northern Ontario, the
bride changed into a silver blue
sleeveless dress with a short
matching jacket and rust ac-
cessories. She had a corsage of

was matron of honour and wore
a floor -length gown of printed
sheer organza in soft colours of
blue and mauve: The gown
featured a scooped neckline,
empire waist, short puffed
sleeves and a MI circular skirt.
Mrs. Brenda Cleave of
Timmins and Miss Sharon
Merpaw of Exeter, friends of
the bride, and Mrs. Linda
Metcalfe of Severn Bridge,
sister of the groom were
bridesmaids and were
similarly attired to the matron
of honour. They carried
bouquets of Mauve and blue
pciiiirwithilluesteptimotis.and,
baby's breath.
Miss Joanna Wilkins and
Miss Katie Carter, both of
Clinton were the flowergirls
and they wore long pale blue
gowns of sheer organza with
white trim. Their dresses
featuredhort puffy sleeves
with gathered skirts. They
carried little nosems of
mauve and blue pbms with
white stephanotis and baby's
breath.
The groomsman was Steve
Metcalfe, brother -hi -law of the
groom and the ushers were Dan
Wise, brother of the groom,
Don Wise, Clinton and Harvey
cleave, Timmins, friends of the
groom.

report. Correspondence was
read by Shirley Storey and the
Dorcas report by Delores Dutot
and Vera Miller with Vera
telling the ladies that the bale
they sent North arrived, and
the ladies were thanked for
sending it -
The card report was given by
Marion Smith, and Delores
read a letter from the CN1B.
Rev. Yournatoffclosed the
meeting in prayer, and gave a
demonstration of how to set the
Communion Table, as the
Ladies of the ACW are about to
take turns in doing this to give
Mrs. Fred Middleton a well
deserved rest from doing so.

The Bluewater unit of the
Canadian Council of the Blind,
representing the whole of
Huron County. held its annual
Thanksgiving Dinner at the
Clinton qmadian Legion Hall,
Tuesday evening, October 14.
Guest of honour was Jim
Kinkead of Goderich, who has
spent aver 30 years working
with the blind. A presentatiou,
as,a token of appreciation, was
mule to rvir. Kinkead.
Also present was Mrs. Mary
Patterson of Henson, who has
just retired from the National
Board of the Canadian Council
of the Blind. Mrs. Patterson
gave an informative talk on the
life of Louis Braille.
Mr. George Cox of princess
Street is the president of the
Bluewater Unit.

superintemient at the Domtar-
Sifto eVaporator plant in
Goderich, said T'uesday that he
had no imowledge of a company
plan to close down the
strikebound Plant -
Mr. Trebish said he had
heard nothing of any such
action, adding that if the
proposal did exist it had not
been suggested at theGoderich
plant.
"You always hear rumors
like that after a strike this
long," said the assistant
superintendent:
The strike that has halted the
production of fine salt at the
Goderich plant is now 21 weeks
old. The last company offer to
the employees. members of the
International Chemical
Workers Union Local 682, was

The recent federal govern-

the 10 percent freeze on wages
have not been made available.
Both the union and the cowspany are awaiting the policy on
workers on strike prior to the
federal legislation.
A government spokesman in
Ottawa indicated that the
freeze would apply to about
500,000 striking workers in
Canada but made no specific
mention of Sifto.
The township of Goderich is participating in this
program and funds are available to those homeowners
who are eligible for assistance.
