Somehow we hope to keep the right person with the right name. New students We would also like to welcome the students and their fhmilies who are new to the school this year. Starting Kindergarten this year are: Lynn Bezaire, Linda Brand, Paul Brand. Jody ram -Cleo rina ROW, Jeronw Ten Rag, Kelly ehoonderwoerd, Teresa VIM den Elmo. Election Prior to the provincial election on 18 September, the students of grades 7-8 con- ducted a mock election to see whom they would elect in this riding. The district returning officer was Brenda Dupee, the poll clerk was Eddie Laurin, and the scrutineers were Danny Merner , Ray Flynn, and Jeff Schmidt,. Grades 5 to 8 did the actual voting. The results were as follows: Liberals 34, Conservatives 9, NDP 5. As you can see, their choice of a representative for this riding was not too different from theresults of the real election. Student council After this exercise in voting procedures, elections were held to determine student council. Alt the students voted in this election. One of student councirs first projects is to raise tummy for the annual Arthritis.Campaign sponsored b the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Clinton Kinette Club. Student council have decided to hold a bake sale on Wednesday, 1 October. At that time, a Bunny cake donated by Mrs. M. Merner, will be raffled off. Sorority leads Arthritis drive The regular meeting of Zeta Omega, the Clinton chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, was held an September 23 at the home of Gayle Wise. The opening ritual was repeated, followed by the roll call and minutes, and treasurer's report Vice-president, Audrey Kemp led a discussion on nishing new -members in the spring, and it was agreed by all members. Tice ways and means chairman announced October 25 date for the annual Hatloween dance; tickets will be on sale soon. The social chakman reminded the members of\ the trip on October 7 to London, to take in a show. The service report gave details for the **Arthritis Blitz" on September 23-26. They would like to make this the best campaign yet, so the support from the town of Clinton is needed. The Canadian Arthritis and Rheumatism Society (C.A.R.S.) is ever increasing and expanding their help and services for the public and naturally requires the citizens support. Men's swim and gym starts at Vanastra The men's gym and swim program began last Wednesday evening in Vanastra with 20 members sweating it out. The gym and swim program consists of an hour of various exercises for conditioning the body, followed by a game of . volleyball. At 9 p. m. the men may take a satina bath and fr go for a swim.
