Holland led the worship service, and Mrs, It Adams read the Scripture. Mrs. N. Hollandave some thoughts from the Upper Room, followed by prayer. Mrs. N. Holland introduced the guest speaker, Mrs. Jack Watson, who told of the work of The blind, and had a display of articles that she explained. She herself is partially blind, and to see the enthusiasm she puts into the explanation really was a challenge for those who do see. We should enjoy our sight while we may and to help the GxNIB any way we can, A film about the blind was also shown with a young public school student running the movie projector. Londesboro and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs, Nor- , man Telford McDaugall of 326 James St., Clinton. The double -ring ceremony 4 was performed by Rev. Stan McDonald. Organist, Mrs. Allan Rosman accompanied Miss Ann Snell of Clinton who sang "'Walk Hand. in Hand", "Wedding Prayer" and "We've Only J ust Begun Given in marriage by her parents. the bride chose a floor - length gown of sheer with petite -point frosted flowers over mint green. The neckline featured a stand-up collar with a set in cu mmerband,creating a ' full gathered skirt. The sheer sleeves puffed delicately at the elbow'aand gathered into a cuff at the wrist. Her white picture hat was trimmed with mint green ribbon to match her gown. Miss Janice Fowler of St. Helens, friend of the bride, was rnnid of honour and wore a floor -length gown of peach coloured polyester yisa. The gown featured a square neckline, smocked to the waistline with a full skirt. Miss Ta m my . DAu m of Stratford and Miss Cynthia Newnham of Seaforth, friends of the bride, were bridesmaids and were similarly attired to the maid of honour. They all carried cloud bouquets of white :2nd w'Ikbw shatstai daisies with -a haze of baby's breath. All wore white picture hats trimmed with peach ribbons to match their "gowns. _ The groom wore a bottle green lightweight worsted tuxedo with green velvet lapel and top collar framed with green satin. shirt in green on white. and a green velvet bow tie. He wore a yellow rose in his lapel. The groomsman/was Douglas Fowler of Caledonia. a friend.of the groom and ushers were Harris Snell of Londesboro, brother of the bride and Casey Verwey of Auburn. friend of the groom. Dwight Caldwell of Auburn. a nephew .of the groom. was the ringbearer. They were all attired similarly to the groom, and wore yellow carnations. Following the ceremony, a dinner was held at the Auburn Community Hall where the guests were received by the bride:aa„, mother, who wore a floor -length gown of a pale blue sheer with pastel shades of flowers throughout and a flowered border. The bodice featured a V -empire waistline and a V -neckline with long full sleeves gathering into a cuff at the wrist. She wore a corsage of pink roses surrounded by white daisies. The groom's mother assisted. wearing a floor -length gown of pale lime green sheer with empire waistline and flared figured skirt of shades of orange, blue and brown, a V- necklineand long, full sleeves gathering into a cuff at the wrist. She wore yellow roses surrounded by white daisies.. Following a haneyn'ioon to the West Coast, .the couple will reside at RR 1, Londesboro. Guests were present from Toronto. Mount Forest, Caledonia. There were three Sep, tember birthdays in the map. . Plans. were made for the :II Thankoffering and also ti regional supper meeting, 'both in Wesley -Willis Church. It was announced there will. . be a Parlor Tea on Septennber, 25th and there will be coffee hour after the church service - on Septet lber 25th. Mrs. Ball read a tetter of ' thanks for a bale sent to India, and also one ' for articles requested for Angola. Mrs. J. Nediger gave a UCW financial report. The meeting closed with the Mizpah Benediction and lunch was served. Magic Circle UCW hosted 4-H leaders Mrs. Mary Murch welcomed the ladies of. the Magic Circle UCW Wesley -Willis Church to the first autumn meeting. A hymn was sung and verses of scripture were read by Jean Johns. Florence Oliver gave the meditation. "A New Beginning". and Mrs. Cleta Holland sang two lovely solos. ,"The Wonder of it All", and "How Great Thou Art" Rev. ' J. Oestreicher gave an interesting and helpful Bible Study on Luke. which was much appreciated. A reading "If Jesus came to Your House" was given by. Mary Murch and another hymn was sung, followed by prayer by Margaret Cole: Mrs. Ruth Bond presided for the business, Greta Nediger reported 23 hospital and 20 home cauls were made and the hospital secretary's and treasurer's reports were given. Mrs. Jean johns reported -on a noon luncheon for the 4-H club leaders on September 10. The thank offering Meeting for Wesley -W iilis - and Ontario Street Churches is to be held on October 5 at :3.0 p.m. in Wesley Willis Church. Guest speakers.. Mr. and Mrs. Kemp, will give an illustrated talk on their experiences in the Arctic. The centre regional meeting is to be . held October 7 in \Vestsry-Willis Church with dinner at t,: 30 p. m. and meeting; at 8 p.m. Further plans were discussed`' for the morning market. on November 1 at Wesley -Willis Church. The meeting closed with prayer and lunch was served by Mrs. Doles, Mrs. MCClymont and Mrs. Jean Currie. The Clinton Horticulture Society arranged the Family Night program which included a lovely flower display. a corsage for each of the residents and colored slides. The President of the Club, Mrs. McCann, introduced the guest 'for the evening. Mrs. Homuth, who showed. pictures • taken while an a recent trip to the British Isles and several' slides of the Clinton .Centennial parade. The members of -the society presented 25 bouquets to the residents which included the eldest. the youngest, those over 90 and special birthdays. Mrs. Elsie Henderson played piano instrumentals during the intermission. Mrs. Bessie Elliott thanked the ladies for the lovely flowers and Mrs. Homuth for the very interesting commentary and pictures. The residents have been very interested in the recent Provincial election with 185 taking advantage of the op- portunity to vote. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Jean Jamieson of Clinton, and the late Lawrence B, Jamieson. The groom m is the son of Mrs. Nancy Wise of Clinton, and the late Glen H. Wise. Miss Kathy Potter, organist. provided' traditional wedding music. Friend of the bride Mrs. Ward Hodgins, Vanastra, sang "Follow Me' and her own composition "Vows" ac- companying . herself on the guitar. The bride was given in marriage by her brother William L. Jamieson of Chatham in the double ring ceremony officiated by Rev. John Oestreicher. • The bride wore a gown of polyester" satin with a high neckline accented with lace yoke and sleeves. A wide ruffle added hemline interest to the skirt. She, wore a wide - brimmed hat trimmed with tulle and carried a cascade bouquet . of yellow roses and yellow and white daisies. Miss Karen Wise of Clinton, maid of honour, wore a gown of pale yellow -,polyester crepe. with a sweetheart neckline. and a full skirt with a ruffled bot- tom, and short gathered -- sleeves. She -wore a yellow wide -brimmed hat. with matching trine and carried a basket of yellow and white daisies and blue cornflowers. Ron Wise - of Waterloo brother of the - groom was be ' man. Guests were ushered in by Gard Mathers of Tinton. A reception followed at the Clinton ' Legion Hall, The bride's motherireceived guests. She wore a floor length mint green and white gown with a . corsage of yellow roses. She was assisted by the groom's mother who wore a floor -length turquoise- floral gown with a corsage of white carnations. For travelling in Northern Ontario the bride wore a bone colored pant suit with tan ac- cessories and a corsage of red roses. On their return. they took up residence in Clinton.
