The current and immediate
goal of the Arthritis Society is
the best arthritis control
program in the world. It is, now
on the threshold of that ob-
jective and it is to assist in the
complete and early attainment
• of that goal that the Kinettes
and Sorority girls are devoting
their energies during "Arthritis
Week" in Clinton. The suceess
of the Society's endeavours now
hinges almost entirely on the
availability of funds.
Citizens are urged to be as
generous as circumstances
permit when the canvasser
calls next week.
Clinton _Kinettes support

The Kinette Club of. Clinton
reconvened for its 1975776 year
on Tuesday evening Sept. 9 at
the Clinton Public School.
President Lorie Corrie
presided over the meeting, and
8120 was donated to support the
club's foster child in Costa
Rica. Also 520 was donated
toward the Muscular
Dystrophy Fund and the club is
planning to help canvass the
town with the Beta Sigma Phi
for the Arthritic Society later in
Septemt. There was a short
discussion on the Horse -Race
Concession Booth which the
Kinettes man during the racing
season.
It was also decided to pur-
chase a spirit duplicator for
reproducing the club's monthly
bulletin.
Ways and means committee
chairman, Carol Bowker,
presented a committee report
for money raising which in-
cluded such things as a Santa
suit rental, clown suit rental.
New Year's dance, June dance,
perhaps a Fashion Show and
other smaller in group projets-
Service committee chair-
man, Jean Jewitt. recom-
mended that projects at
Huronview and the, Clinton
Public Hospital, girls softball,
along with monetary support to
various services in town be
continued this year.
Roxanne Brown, social
committee chairman,
suggested such things as a
progressive dinner, swim party
at Vanastra, Christmas Kin
kids party, and entertaining
Kin wives and peerspective
`Kinettes be some of the social
activities for the year.,
President 'Lorie announced
that District I Kinsmen Fall
Council "Rural Rumbte"
hosted by the Harriston Kin-
smen Club would be held.
October 3,4,5 at the -New
Holiday Inn in London.
Members were urged to attend.
For the Kinette Club's 23rd
anniversary which falls on' the
second meeting night of. Sep-
tember, the club has planned a
smorgasbord at the home of
Roxanne Brown. Later Tim St.
Louis of the Raintree Gallery
will demonstrate a few of . his
craft ideas,

James Howatt wanted in-
formation on expenses for a tile
drain loan. Ralph Buffinga

restrictions on objections to his
using the word "Hullett" in a
name for his bus company.
Council assured him there were
noobjections.
Councillors asked - the
provincial ministry to set a 40
mph speed limit through the
village of Constance.

Co. appointed engineer for this
work.
The tender on McGregor
Drain was awarded -to Bruce
Carson for S5,280, one of three
tenders received.
The clerk was instructed to
send a letter to Seaforth
Recreation Committee in-
forming them that Hultett
Council does not wish to have a
representative on the arena
fund raising committee.
General accounts of

Kenneth L. MacDonald
Kenneth Lloyd MacDonald of
Blyth passed away August 27,
1915, in Clinton Public Hospital
after a lengthy illness. He was
in his 49th year.
Born in Kinloss Township. he
moved at the age of one year
with his parents to the 14th
Concession of Hullett township.
He is survived by his wife,
Enid (Brigham) MacDonald.
six children, Mrs. Cliff
(Beverley) Snell, Blyth. Brian,
of Seaforth, Barry. Scott. Lynn .
and Lisa at home and three
grandsons, Kriss and Craig
Snell and Mark MacDonald. He
was predeceased by one
grandson. Kent Snell in 1970.
Also surviving are his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Russell
MacDonald, one brother,
Carman and one sister Mrs.
Reg. (Betty) Hesselwood, all of
Blyth.
A private funeral service.was
held August 29th from the
Tasker Funeral Home con-
