Until this year hospital volunteers have completed this job over the summer before the Penny Sale, but this past year the children at Queen Elizabeth School for the Trainable Retarded un- dertook this task and worked at it from October until June. They did a fine job - as any one Who has purchased' tickets will know. In early September, the corresponding secretary sends out letters asking for donations to the area merchants and professional people. Volunteers pick up the prizes, vouchers. and cash donations in the week before the Penny Sale. • On the day before the Penny Sale store opens ((his year it opens on Saturday, Septelbber !0 in the Town Hall) volunteers set up the prizes on display with a box. for each prize. into which tickets can be dropped.
